He had a down year last season, but he could be the second scorer that we need.

Not going to happen. He wants to much money and is not that good.

Not to mention that we really have several other pressing needs beyond another small forward.

I wouldn't be excited about it. We'd have to do it as a S&T with San Antonio. I guess if we could get Hill in the process and shed Murphy at the same time I'd be mildly interested. Ultimately, I don't think Jefferson is the kind of 2nd scorer we need right now.

I still dont understand why he opted out. Hes not going to make anywhere close to the kind of money he would have made this season

Maybe he wants to go back to NJ/NY area. He says he is looking at them for possible destinations. Maybe San Antonio isn't a big enought city for him.

YES! Let's do it! Give the farm. This guy is the type of player we need to get us over the promised land! While we're at it, pair him with Zach Randolph and give him a max contract, too!

I think I remember reading that he wants a multi-year deal before the new CBA.

    Good luck!

Oh I feel he'll get another contract... closer to the MLE than what he was making. I'll bet the Spurs FO threw a party when they found out he had opted out. His thinking was extremely flawed making that decision, extremely flawed. He was playing for a contending team with Duncan and Parker, and chooses to opt out. He had a PG to feed him just like Kidd did at NJ, and couldn't get his game together. Good luck Mr. Jefferson finding your next team who you think will pay you 10-11 mil a year.
