He isn't good enough to be a starter no matter how bad the team is.

Looks like the Suns threw a nice piece of change at him as well.

The Suns have agreed to terms on a four-year, $18 million deal with free agent forward Hakim Warrick, sources tell Marc Spears of Yahoo!

Warrick played with the Bucks and Bulls during the 09-10 season.

The signing likely signals the end of Amar'e Stoudemire's tenure with the Suns.

Wow. In the past 2 days they've committed $10+ million a year to Channing Frye and Hakim Warrick.

That's a reasonable salary at 4.5 mil a year for Warrick. He's not a starter type player, but he gives you

    49% FGA... 72% FT... 4.4 REB... 10 PPG

Wow. Talk about no defense at PF/C for the Suns.

They've still got Robin Lopez, who's probably a better player than either of the guys they just gave contracts to.

Seems like a little too much for second unit guys, unless they are going to be starters, still a lot of players are cashing in this Summer, and we are "being patient".

I rather 'be patient' than stupid and give out a horrible contract...

    What's a non-starter whose stats are

    50% FGA... 61% FT... 7 REB... 1 AST... 5 PPG

    worth?

Bird thought it was worth 12.7 mil for 2 years to a 5 & 7 player with a history of injury problems who ended up only playing 16 games last year. Bird is making some of these GM's signings look good.

I think they intend on having Hak start? Who else do they have on that position? I guess Robin Lopez, but I'd rather have Hak starting.

Warrick in no way could play center....he'd be more likely to play some small forward. If Frye is your other starting big....you start Lopez. You almost have to.

Injurys happen and it is was designed to line up with our other expiring contracts. We can't sign much more than our own players anyway until he expires. A healthy foster helps our team and bigs get paid.

So do blunders. Injuries can't be controlled, but making poor decisions can! I notice you didn't address when Bird gave Foster the extension. That and overpaying Foster is my complaint about the extension to Foster. A 5 & 7 31 year old big with a history of injuries isn't worth 12.7 mil. An extremely poor decision on Bird's part that has come back to bite him in the ***.

Agreed. Solid scorer, horrible in pretty much everything else. Very poor decision by the Suns.
