i dont recall that rule at all on this board..the angel was always able to protect the same person...i was an angel once and i almost always protected myself...till i tried to save a human once and the wolves got me on that same night!
If we do go PM'less next game I would like to make sure we get everyone to vote as often as possible since the only way we will be able to collect info. is in the thread. Kinda hard to see patterns when there are so many holes.
I would be interested in eliminating the vote switching. There's never been a rule in favor of it until recently, and I don't believe that's how it's played in real life (never have played it outside this forum though). Getting rid of that and the PMs would make it a little more of a level playing field for everyone.
Question though - if people say the wolves can look/point/nod in real life, we have no forum equivalent here. There' NO way to communicate without PMs. Would it be best to allow the wolves to communicate, but also allow the seer to do so with people he's confirmed as human?
I think it would be hard to not be allowed to switch votes unless there was a discussion period then a vote period. I really don't mind being able to switch who I vote for.
Well, if PMs are eliminated entirely, I have less of an issue with it. But if they're kept in their current format or in a wolf-only modified format, the balance of power is much too tilted. Tracking voting patterns is easy enough to fix. But voting patterns WITH vote switching makes the only tool the humans have almost impossible to rely upon (I would argue that in the hands of the right wolves, it's actually a detriment to the humans then).
I would agree then that a discussion period, followed by a vote period, would be the best alternative. I don't think just voting is a reasonable idea either - what we do now isn't that far off from what I'd have in mind other than the rampant vote switching.
How about only the wolves can pm but they have to pm the gm their individual choice. If there is a majority, then the gm can kill the person, if not, the gm pms them back the list of names and they rank them from 1 to 4 (if it's the beginning of the game) and then 1st place is 4, 2nd 3, 3rd 2 and 4th 1, then kill the one with the most points. They don't really get to strategize but they'd get to kill who they wanted.
yea i totally leave those first votes out when people vote early in the round only to switch it up later on...it makes it a great disguise to say "oh i was voting for this person till something came along and made me move to this one"
