We had a 4 wolves, 1 seer, 11 humans advantage when the game turned against us last time. I wouldn't say it's hideously lopsided at all.
You were clearly ahead until two incidents of accidental PM copying, which accelerated the game tremendously.

Well, I've played with it in real life before and I can vouch that it doesn't give too much power to the wolves, it's really intended to make it more fun for a regular human. You can try to become the one to be turned, you can try to avoid being turned. It's kind of cool from that stand point.

Perhaps we could let the GM decide if the infection would even be used? Like an in-game surprise....

I will then bow to your judgement and experience. Provided everyone understands all the nuances of the rules, let's go ahead and give it a shot.

I still think that the very first thing the wolves should do is turn a human and gain the extremely significant statistical advantage right from the start, but maybe I'm saying that from some sort of misunderstanding of when the wolves are allowed to use this capability.

I think that probably the gm should say beforehand whether it's a possibility or not.

Also, LA are you in on this next one?

Thats a good idea... like if the votes are going one way and everyone is really into it the GM can offer the wolves the choice but if it would change the game too much then hold off all together.

I think we can try it out. We play often enough to introduce a wrinkle and see how it works.

Maybe make it so they can only infect if they are down to one or two wolves?

Mine wasn't accidental. i was using the only card i had to try to save myself and it didn't work. It helped you win, but didn't do me any good.

I can see LA's point about the infection thing, but i say let give it a shot. I'm not even against letting the angel/seer be turned and live. That just makes it more interesting. I would hope the humans would see a person they had trust in had changed sides. The wolves already know who is human, so their powers would be nil.

I still don't like this idea from the beginning, but again, I'm willing to give it a shot.

I'm considering your incident a totally different thing.

The 2 PM copying incidents I'm referring to both involved Major Cold.

He accidentally copied me in a post revealing that both he and Ms. Piggy were contacted by the seer and accusing me of being a wolf. I considered it a brazen wolf taunt, so I made the incident public.

The other one was when the wolves accidentally copied Major Cold on a PM addressed to most of the wolves.

Both of those incidents blew the game wide open.

No, I don't like this, then it's obvious when they infect and less strategic.

The biggest part of the strategy behind it is WHEN to use it. Do you want the jump right away (as LA suggests) or do you want more info from your possible convert and wait a little bit?

Do it once, whenever the wolves want, if it's blocked by the angel, tough cookies.

OK, besides the infection thing, Have we decided on:

    1. No talking after death. You can watch, but make no comments.

    2. No posting PMs in game thread. you can mention the contents and hope you are believed, but no copy and paste.

    3. Specials cannot reveal themselves in thread and no one can claim to be one.

    4. Anything else?

Another rule I mentioned this in the 20x6 thread, no posting substantive things after votes close at night till the morning. Generally you're supposed to be silent during the night, but that gets boring. Just one of the reasons wolves kill people is to have them shut up and if the gm is taking too long posting the story, the wolves shouldn't be punished for that. If people think that's too harsh, we can take it out.

I would suggest that no one claim "the seer told me so and so" or "sources" ect...That will get everyone on boat with that person.

Edit: actually, to me that's not needed anymore..people won't do that, if we have the rule about converting.

They still might do it but it'll have a consequence probably now. Do the wolves convert the person that came out, someone they claimed was human? It does throw a bit of a wrench into that strategy without totally outlawing it. It's kind of why I'm pro-infection to begin with.

Can you please clarify this? When EXACTLY are you no longer allowed to post and when EXACTLY are you allowed to resume?

Are you saying that there should be radio silence between when someone is hanged and the announcement of the eaten person?

I don't think there needs to be a rule for that now, as you say they would become the target of the wolves to be infected, especially if the angel is still around. Actually, being able to do that might be a weapon against the infection tool if you have the correct situation. I feel if you want to take the chance with or without the threat of infection then have at it. As we saw with Ms. P., it still just your word you are telling the truth.

On the other forum I've played on, yeah, once you pick who to kill at night (ie voting closes) there's a ban on strategy talk in thread until the morning story.

It's not something I'm completely sure is necessary, but it's sort of a rule I'm used to. That way if the gm is taking a while putting up a story then people who think they're gonna die just go and say everything they think and the wolves have picked that player to die and it pretty much confirms what that dead person says.

It's pretty much to cover the lag from when the wolves pick to when the gm writes the story.
