I think I am going to go to the game on Saturday, and follow it up with a trip to Kings Island on Sunday.
I'm still pissed they dropped the Paramount license.

Yeah, I noticed that when I went last year. Several of the rides now have pretty lame names, and the themes seem kind of lost. I have yet to ride delerium though, which I absolutely must do. I had my kids with me last year and couldn't do it. I am looking forward to that.

I'm not a big fan of spinning carnival rides like Delirium. I rode it, didn't like it. Most seem to love it, though. Me, on the other hand, I love the coasters. That's what I'm all about. Diamondback is amazing, and the Beast is still the best ever.

Kinda sad to see them close down Son of Beast. Never rode it, but just feel bad for the park. They really wanted that to be the next best thing, but it just always seemed to be marred with issues.

Is Son of Beast shut down for good? I never heard for sure. I love the coasters as well, but when I was watching delirium from the ground it just looked awesome to me for some reason. The Beast in indeed great, and I haven't rode the Diamonback yet either so I'm looking forward to that one as well. It has to be a hell of an upgrade over King Cobra.

Yup. It's shut down at least for this year. From what I've read, the ride has cost them $30,000,000 in repairs and in the past few years they've had a couple of serious injuries happen on it. That's why they took out the loop a few years ago. And now it appears they'd either have to tear it all down and give up or tear most of it down and reconfigure it....but that would cost a TON of money. And that would just mean more money being lost on that ride.

If I were them, I'd just tear it down. Although the Roller Coaster fanatic in me wants them to rebuild it. And make it better. And taller. And Faster. With 3 loops.

That is just a mind boggling number. As if it wasn't obvious enough, they are robbing us blind. Oh well, that is pretty much the norm. There seems to be quite a premium on entertainment. I remember last year when I took the kids I thought I was going to get off cheap and take them to Subway. Little did I know $5 foot longs don't exist within the confines of Kings Island. Thank lord I had a few things out in the cooler.

I don't like eating much when I go to an amusement park to begin with. I just like having plenty of water on hand.

And you're right on the price, 20 oz. drinks are $3.00 out there. Ridiculous.

I will say though, the Pizza inside the indoor cafeteria-thing towards the front of the park has surprisingly decent price. I think it was like $15-$20 for a large pizza. Considering everything else out there, that's not bad at all.

I forget the name of that place, but that pizza is absolutely amazing.

Yes, I love that place. By the way, I don't know if you drink or not, and you may already know this....and actually probably won't need it if I understand correctly that you are sitting in the diamond seats....but for future reference and everyone else here who may not know there is a UDF right behind home plate at GABP that sells 24 oz cans of just about any beer you could want for $9.50

I just seen they have this at GABP as well, I wonder how I missed it all these years.

I'll be there Saturday in 146 for the return of Edinson! Definitely going to follow that up with a trip up to KI.

I am very disappointed to miss MC Hammer. I know you missed the whole phenomena, but when I was growing up he was huge. I used to have all of his music back in the day.

I'm more excited about the 1990 team celebration than the Hammer concert. couldn't care less about him performing.

I don't see why he's going there, anyway. While his song was the "Unofficial" anthem of that 1990 team, he was a fan of the A's......the team we beat in the World Series.

That would be like me going to a Dale Earnhardt Memorial. It just doesn't make sense.

The celebration will definitely be cool, but growing up during "hammer time" gives me a different perspective of that aspect of the celebration. Regardless of who his team was, he was a significant part of the culture during my childhood. I am a Jeff Gordon fan, but I have never taken for granted the impact Sr had on Nascar and I appreciate everything he did even though I disliked him with a passion.

No talk of Voltron's dominance last night? I didn't get to see the game but was keeping track on my phone while we were out at dinner. I honestly can't believe he came back and K'd 9 in 6 innings. I was seriously not expecting a very good outing. Hope for the best, expect the worst sort of thing.

After watching the highlights, Edinson was DEALING. It looked like he had all of his pitches working, and the velocity was there (topping out at around 96MPH). Most importantly, he looked pretty comfortable out on the mound, actually shaking his head in approval of himself on a couple of the K's.

It's a good time to be a Reds fan fellas. Let's enjoy every bit of it.
