    All,

Not surprised MJax is throwing his teammates to the curb during these broadcasts. MJax is - and always has been - all about MJax.

Now, back to the '98 ECF. The Pacers lost because of the Smits jump ball in The World According to Jax. The fact that Jax himself turned the ball over 14 times in the first two games in Chicago and could barely get the ball across the timeline against Pippen couldn't have been a factor.

    Could it?

    MJB
I really, really wish we could hit the "thanks" button multiple times and have it show up that way!

I know a number of people long for the days of Jackson at the point, even to the point of hero worship. On the other hand, I've never been able to stomach the guy. He was (and still is) arrogant, conceited and other words which should not be used on a public forum.

Heck, we haven't even touched on his comment about Pierce being the greatest Celtic ever! Suppose he is angling for a bit of player support for a coaching job in case Doc decides to leave after the season? If it isn't something like that, then I can only guess Jackson had one of the biggest brain farts in history.

Thanks again for your input, Mark!

Also don't forget Travis Best was on the floor in the fourth quarter of close games more often than Mark Jackson during the Bird years. Certainly in the 1998 ECF Travis was a very important player against the Bulls.

Did anyone else notice the 2000 Finals flashback during the game last night? It was a Kobe dunk, and JVG was ribbing Mark for playing white flag defense.

Travis was the guy who completely lost Kerr on the three pointer that tied the game after the offensive rebound we gave up after the jump ball that Rik Smits "lost".

Of course, that made it a tie with like 6 or 7 minutes left in the game, so...methinks the jump ball was far from a death blow.

You people are just pissing me off right now. Can we talk about something else?
Why do the things that we treasure most, slip away in time
Till to the music we grow deaf, to God's beauty blind
Why do the things that connect us slowly pull us apart?
Till we fall away in our own darkness, a stranger to our own hearts
And life itself, rushing over me
Life itself, the wind in black elms,
Life itself in your heart and in your eyes, I can't make it without you

Yeah, the Jackson said "My job was to stop the ball, my teammates did not do their job" or something to that effect.

Jackson was always one of my favorites, but the more I hear him talk on broadcasts the less I like him.

It's either this, Gordon Hayward, Tony Parker, or JOB.

    Oh. That's not any better.

    Let's talk about aardvarks.

Did you know at the aardvark is the only species in its order?

Did you know an aardvark will typically dribble a basketball longer than Travis Best before passing or shooting it?

The Pacers once considered drafting an aardvark but settled on Nancy Lieberman instead.

Larry Bird once lost a game of HORSE to an aardvark.

Aardvarks have a nice outside shot and great hops. Wait, that's Jonathon Bender... and he's who beat Bird in a game of Horse.... I've gotten them confused somehow...
Nuntius was right. I was wrong. Frank Vogel has retained his job.

Well, what else is it going to do?

Now that you mention it, I think Travis Best was always trying to burrow a hole through the court by standing in one place and dribbling so much. Maybe he's related to the aardvark?

The aardvark is the only known mammal that will dribble longer than Travis Best.

I really appreciated that. I is good to hear someone who was there, and is a pro at what he does, holding Jackson accountable for being selective in his memory of that series.
