Lightning strike. Wonder if their insurance covered Acts of God?

Welcome to Pacers Digest! New around here? Here are three tips for making the forum a great place to talk about Pacers basketball.

    • Log in. Even if you want to read instead of post, it's helpful because it lets you:
    • Change your signature options. You can hide all signatures by choosing "Settings" (top right) then "General Settings" (middle left) and unchecking the box "Show Signatures" (in the "Thread Display Options" area).
    • Create an ignore list. I know it may seem unneighborly. But you're here to talk about the Pacers, not argue with someone who's just looking for an argument. Most of the regular users on here make use (at least occasionally) of the "Ignore" feature. Just go to "Settings" -> "Edit Ignore List" and add the names.

    Enjoy your time at PD!

That's the inspiration behind Heywood Banks' song, "Big Butter Jesus".

That's sad, the song has no relevancy now.

    And in greater numbers.
Don't ask Marvin Harrison what he did during the bye week. "Batman never told where the Bat Cave is," he explained.

Who makes a statue out of foam and fiberglass?

I loved that, when I googled this, the first headline listed was 'Touchdown Jesus' Burns after Lightning Strike.

God is not a Buckeye fan! He burned Touchdown Jesus down! .

I do find it funny given how much money they spent building that thing. That money could have gone to better use.

There can only be one Highlander.

According to my research, there can be as many as four Touchdown Jesuses. (Though, there's usually just the one. Apparently the licensing is prohibitive.)

It's not worth it. Just fill in the blanks yourself:

As a [noun defining distinct social group] I am [verb denoting extreme emotion] at this [term for objectionable statement] to the [posturing claim of wounded dignity] of [elaborate and hyperbolic linkage to some irrelevant value or principle]. [Gratuitous reference to Hitler.]
And I won't be here to see the day
It all dries up and blows away
I'd hang around just to see
But they never had much use for me

Since reading this moments ago, I have been raucously entertaining myself by filling in these blanks.

Heywood Banks updated his song on Bob and Tom not video yet, but the new verse is:

One night Big Butter got hit by lightning

It burned to the frame wire in a giant grease fire

Some blamed it on Satan, and boy, that would be frightening

But I thought it was Jesus’ father who was in charge of lightning

    9-1-1 call:

“Jesus is on fire. I swear to God, this is not a prank. I am serious. I just saw it get struck by lighting.”

The dispatcher reassured, stating, “I believe you.”

The man said, “I know it’s not funny, but literally his one hand is on fire.”

If he does, I assume we'll get 2,000+ years of conspiracy theories and people arguing over whether it is true or not.
Why do the things that we treasure most, slip away in time
Till to the music we grow deaf, to God's beauty blind
Why do the things that connect us slowly pull us apart?
Till we fall away in our own darkness, a stranger to our own hearts
And life itself, rushing over me
Life itself, the wind in black elms,
Life itself in your heart and in your eyes, I can't make it without you

Maybe no need yet, but with this subject matter, it's always going to be close to it by default.

People need to take all of the commentary in this thread with a sense of humor, and that seems to be the case so far, without exception.

Peter: As we all know, Christmas is that mystical time of year when the ghost of Jesus rises from the grave to feast on the flesh of the living! So we all sing Christmas Carols to lull him back to sleep.

Bob: Outrageous, How dare he say such blasphemy. I've got to do something.

Man #1: Bob, there's nothing you can do.

Bob: Well, I guess I'll just have to develop a sense of humor.
