Default Bleacher Report article day-dreaming about Dirk to Pacers

Just heard this rumor yesterday and decided to look it up for further clarity, but the Bleacher Report has reported that the Indiana Pacers could be the running to trade Troy Murphy, Mike Dunleavy, and our 1st Round Pick for Dirk Nowitzki...

    Article:
This is the dark horse of the group. The Indiana Pacers could do a sign and trade with the Mavs to get Dirk.

Here is a trade that could work. Pacers receive Dirk Nowitzki, while Dallas receives Troy Murphy, Mike Dunleavy, and the Pacers' 2011 first round pick.

That trade could actually work, which would make Mark Cuban pull the trigger on that trade.

Dirk would fit perfectly into the Pacers organization. He would finally be the guy that brings fans in the stands.

Dirk Nowitzki with Danny Granger, Roy Hibbert, and T.J. Ford could make them a top contender in the playoffs.

Dirk in the blue and gold would be absolutely amazing. However, I know better than to think that something this good could happen to us. Furthermore, ......what trader said.

Seriously, I would go as far as to ask the admins if you're posting an article from bleacherreport you should have to say so in the thread title, they are not a reliable source at all.

I would absolutely LOVE it !! .. Love Dirk as a player , always have.. In my opinion , he has been the closest thing the league has had to Larry Bird , since Bird retired...
But that is just my own personal opinion , being that Bird is/was my favorite player to ever pick up a basketball .. lol ...

If we can make it happen, the Pacer's F.O. absolutely NEEDS TO!!...

Plumlee reminds me of a young Dale Davis. Good rebounding and he contests shots well on defense and his offensive game is very raw just like DD's was coming out of college.

Haha yeah that'd be a good idea...I've never been too sure about the Bleacher Report's rumor mill, but I was just wondering what you guys thought and if we could actually pull this off...In my opinion, I would do this in a heartbeat, but like Speed said: "Why does Dallas do this?"

Yeah sure Dirk makes sense for us. So do Lebron, Kobe, and Chris Paul

    This line says it all.

Anyone who views TJ Ford as any part of the Pacers future other than a trading chip or an expiring contract obviously hasn't paid any attention the last 2 years.

A pipe dream of Super Mario Bros. sized proportions... but yeah, sure. Where do I sign?

The only thing Dallas would gain is two large expiring contracts and 20,000 disgruntled fans. I doubt the later would be able to overcome the former.

Larry is not coming back, he didn't have a meeting with Orlando for not reason, yeah he is coming back to the NBA but not to the Pacers, the notion that he is a taking a year off and then come back is absurd.

That makes no sense. Somebody needs to throw the Billy Madison quote at that guy.

As for Dirk, I've said it many, many times before. Ever since I saw him flipping out on his German teammates when they were losing to New Zealand in the '02 WBCs like it was their fault he was having a horrible game, I've wanted no part of him.

Mr. Madison, what you have just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Pure garbage. I have a better chance of playing for the Pacers than Dirk does.

If you know anything about the Mavs and mark Cuban you know this trade has zero chance of being even discussed.

    NO WAY

I think this same trade works to get Lebron, or Wade, or Bosh, or Joe Johnson. So I say lets go after and get Lebron instead. I'm sure he'll want to play for Jim O'Brien. Lebron, Granger and of course TJ will win the championship

I know, but sending it to him would mean I would actually have to go to the site, which I avoid at all costs.
