Default Bleacher Report writer wants Baron Davis to be a Pacer

Won't happen. Plus it's the Bleacher Report, but it's Sunday and I thought the forum could use another rumor

    http://bleacherreport.com/articles/4...indiana-pacers

Baron Davis has not been a good fit in his hometown for the Los Angeles Clippers. Baron wants to be traded, and Indiana would be right there for him.

Baron to Indiana trade would be like this. Baron comes to Indiana and Los Angeles receives T.J. Ford, Brandon Rush, and the No. 10 pick in the NBA Draft.

Davis would fit right into the Pacers offensive system. He is a point guard that likes to score and that's what I think Indiana needs.

When you put Baron Davis with Danny Granger, that is a dangerous duo that could bring the Pacers to the playoffs next year.

If this were to happen, I would be very excited as an Indiana Pacers fan.

I would be fine with Rush and Ford being traded, but I would be hesitant to trade the No. 10 pick for Baron Davis. I would do it anyway, though.

Davis can explode for 30 points in any game. Also, Davis can pass the ball if you want him to.

The one thing I would love about Baron Davis in Indiana would be he has a long term contract.

Baron Davis has four years left on his current contract. Unlike Tony Parker, who only has one year left on his contract.

Baron Davis would likely finish his career with the Pacers if this trade happened.

Even though Baron Davis has a history of not getting along with his coaches, that would be okay though. The Pacers are used to it though; they had Ron Artest when he was in his prime of getting angry.

If I were the Indiana Pacers, I would make this trade right away. Baron Davis would be a great point guard for them.

This doesn't seem to be a rumor, so much as a speculative, 'gee I sure wish this could happen' kinda piece. To the subject matter at hand, P A S S on Baron.

Yeah, not the best idea to make the "The Pacers are used to it though...they had Ron Artest" argument when you're trying to sell a player.

He's actually only got 3 years left, but they're $13/14/15M.

Right, and of the suggested moves I've heard up to this point, I'd be much more on board with Elton Brand if the #2 came with it. Baron David for Rush, Ford, AND the #10? No thanks.

I would rather do that deal for Eric Gordon minus the 10th pick.

Are we in some competition to pick up the worst contracts possible? ....First Okafor and now Davis. Are the pacers trying to go into the basketball HOF for bad contracts?

I'm going to go ahead and edit the thread title.

With articles like these where it's just the author wanting it to be true, I'd prefer we don't use a title like "Baron Davis to Pacers?" because typically that would at least imply there's a rumor from people who have sources, and this isn't the case here. Thanks.

Sorry, I usually just post it as close as possible to what it has on the website I gather it from, with minor paraphrasing here or there

Wow... Whoever runs the bleacher report must be a true moron. To say, "If I were the Indiana Pacers, I would make this trade right away. Baron Davis would be a great point guard for them." Either has a severe lack of insight or some sort of hidden agenda. First of all terrible contract, and second of all he played his best basketball three years ago... and Rush and the #10 pick haven't even shown a quarter of their potential yet. I would consider trading Ford or Murphy straight up, but never with Rush and the draft pick involved.

I'd pass on BD if I were the Pacers. He is owed a lot of money, has had injury concerns, and his best years are probably behind him.

Davis would balk at coming to Indy and hold out or demand to be traded. Besides, who wants an older point guard on the wrong side of 30 making an average of 14 million a year?

Man...I'm still debating whether I would do a Ford/Davis trade, let alone a 3 for 1 trade. He's kinda old...

"can pass if you want him to" lmao...I would rather have Eric Gordon, as said above, anyway. But then again, anything is better than T.J. Ford...well, almost anything.

    That deal is laughable.

I would consider this if it was Baron Davis straight up for an expiring contract, and honestly, I wouldn't even do that.

B Diddy would never come to Indy. He's more interested in the Hollywood aspect of LA than the Clippers anyway. He's working on movies and living in his hometown. It's a perfect situation for him out there.

Let's not give "credit"here, the Pacers have nothing to do with this.

Can we change the title to "Bleacher Report writer shows why they'll never be an NBA GM."

An unmotivated and or unhappy Baron Davis is about the worst player in the NBA. He'll be injured, out of shape, and will be terrible for team chemistry

Although when he is "right" he is one of the best players in the NBA (not just one of the best point guards, but best players overall)

I really don't know what to say about the guy who wrote that mess.

Don't we already have a score first point guard named TJ Ford?

There was a brief, and very decisive, and altogether unprecedented, outburst of genuine officiating, and it was directed at the best player in the world, and that, my dear young person, simply is not done."
