I'm happy to play a supporting role. The first couple games went fine last time until I blew it as the narrator for the last game.

Yes, I want to play, but it seems every time we try we get to like 10-12 people and then sputter out.

Could we do a smaller game with less wolves, or does that not work?

Like if only 10 people want to play, do we have 2 wolves?

Surely we could get more than that. Since it's been so long from the last time we've played, there has to be a couple of newbie's that would want to join. Maybe send out some PM's?

As long as it finishes by the end of June, I'm good.
Don't ask Marvin Harrison what he did during the bye week. "Batman never told where the Bat Cave is," he explained.

I mean if we had 12 we could in theory do three wolves I think, but I feel like we should be able to get 15-20 people. It's been so long and it is summer, plus it really isn't that much of a time commitment.

yea very true...i mean hell we could even maybe turn the wolves into JOB clones and have more people from the main board join us just so they can feel like they're hunting him down...

Can someone give a quick rundown of what the game entails for us newbies?

I'm always interested to play a new game, but need some more info before making a commitment.

here is 2 versions as to how the game is...one by N8r the second by Indy...

    N8r

Depending on the number of total players there will be a few wolves that are selected at random and PM'd that they are wolves. They have to try to kill all the humans through the game. They eat one human each time the game goes to night. The humans job is to try to find out who the wolves are and we all cast a vote to hang someone during the day. After the person is hung their identity is reveled as either wolf, human, angel or seer and then the game goes to night and a wolf eats someone. The wolves all PM who they are going to eat to the person running the game and then it is reveled who they ate in the daytime of the game.

There is one angel who protects one person every night that the wolves dont know about and the humans dont know about. The angel is the only one who knows that they are the angel. Then there is a Seer who is allowed to see one person each day and they will know if that person is human, one of the wolves, or the angel. Now in the last game the seer decided to tell everyone that he was the seer and he began confirming who the humans were.

It may sound confusing but the first game I played I really didnt know what was going on and I lasted a while.

I would say that you should try it out for a game. It is really fun. But you have to be active which you are.

    Indy

It's really incredibly simple. You are set in a town. There are wolves (the amount is based off of how many people are playing), one angel, and one seer. Everyone else is a regular ho-hum townsperson.
At night, the wolves get to hunt. Basically they send in who they want to kill via PM to whoever is running the game. Then the angel gets a chance to "save" someone. If they save the person the wolves hunted then there are no deaths that night.
Also at night, the seer gets to "see" one person, and the game master will tell them whether that person is a werewolf or a human.

Once the night is over, the game master will announce usually in a story if someone was killed or if someone was saved. Then it is day time during the day everyone will debate and talk about who to kill. There will be a vote and the person with the most votes gets lynched. Whether they are a wolf or not, we have played with a "mayor" in the past who had the ability to pick from any of the people who were voted for. This created some problems and we would have to figure out all the detailed rules that can change game by game once everyone has signed up.
