ref. decided foul off the ball - he has been a bit anal about any and all contact in similar situations the whole game

Bradley got fouled as well though and he had a chance at the ball, terrible call. That's a goal.

I think it's not that bad of a ref. It's a hard job to be one there and the number of errors he's made are quite limited. You should blame FIFA and it's head Blatter for not allowing electronic help devices to assist the ref's and linesmen.

That said... yeah, that's sour... we get called for off-side when a lot of times it's not resulting in goals not being allowed. Play is sometimes just to fast to see everything and when in doubt the ref and linesmen mostly, alas, give the defense the benefit of the doubt.

He disallowed a good goal for no reason! He could've officiated the rest of the game perfectly and that's a terrible decision. Like Jim Joyce calling that guy safe at first to disallow the perfect game.

Too bad about that goal on the counter attack at the end of the first half because we could've won this. Gotta beat Algeria by a lot and hope for some help.

They held, Dempsey, Altidore, and basically wore Bradley like a coat. That was garbage.

If he blew the whistle before the goal then we should have had a penalty kick for the hold on Bradley.

they never give that a penalty on those holds...hence the defense always gets away with it.

I believe the best word used by the announcers to describe it was a...disgrace. Just a disgrace.

But he calls a foul on us when maybe by the letter of the law there was one, but Slovenia commits three that "never get called" and they don't get the benefit of the doubt? Common sense has to take over at some point. I'm glad we pulled out the point but we should have gotten three.

maybe this will bring attention to such similar situations...this is not a rare occasion when the offensive side gets called for a foul in a scramble...the difference today was that you guys managed to score a goal.

Having the qoutas on refs from each continent isnt a very good idea, there is is distinct difference overall on the quality of reffing between the euro, south american, asian and african refs, euros ref the champions league, italian, spanish, english leagues etc. south americans also ref higher quality of games, then you got a refs from Africa where the quality of games is quite bad.

thats very true. no matter how much FIFA tries to play "we're all equal" - reality is we aren't...some are just better than others.

I agree. FIFA needs to drop the whole we're all equal motto. Just bring the best refs and if it means they are mostly Europe and South American then so be it. They should not bring refs who are not use to the grand stage or the reffing game at this level just to show we are all equal.

This is not the result I was looking for. A tie today put to much focus on what the other teams do. If England wins, which I expect them to do, they are tied with Slovenia at the top with 4 points. We have to hope England wins or Slovenia wins and we win to advanced. If England and Slovenia tie that sends it to a three way tie and I have no clue what the tie breakers are.

Good comeback from USA. Shame for you about the disallowed goal. Always disappointing when a bad decision affects the result of a game.

I wouldn't worry about not going through though. You should beat Algeria and England should beat Slovenia, especailly having just watched how vunerable they were at the back today.

It's decided by goal difference (goals scored minus goals conceded) and if that's equal it's then decided by the team that scored the most goals.

Basically we have to score more goals than Slovenia next week.
