When live musicians are performing on stage, and have nothing to say except:

"This next song was written by [some person] and we've been playing it for [some length of time] and we recorded it on our [some] album. So we'd like to do it for you now, and we hope you like it."
And I won't be here to see the day
It all dries up and blows away
I'd hang around just to see
But they never had much use for me

...the geographically challenged. Just read a story about how South Florida vacation economy is tanking because people think the oil is down here. News flash... Florida is a big state, and by Mapquest driving distances, Miami FL is further from Pensacola FL than Seymour, IN is from Pensacola, FL (678 vs. 670 miles)

What the hell? Any kids play in your yard lately? The thief has to be a child.

Nope, no children playing. It happened over night, between 11 pm and 7 am...yay! Gotta love thieves. I hope the person really wanted them and didn't just break them for 'fun'.

Of all the things to steal - that's really, really strange. Do you have a birthday or anniversary coming up - maybe it's part of an upcoming gag - like the gnome from Amélie?

That's what I thought. I have a nice charcoal grill at the back of the house (inside a fenced area) and my wife's SUV was out in the driveway (normally park in the garage with my car, but we're storing some furniture in there for a couple of weeks).

Odd. Yes. My birthday is in October as well as our wedding anniversary. Wife's birthday is in April. So, it shouldn't be a gag.

My car has been broken into twice since Christmas....in my driveway.

I told the local gendarmes that I was going to sit out on the front porch with a 12 gauge and when the perps come up the driveway, I'm gonna pump that shotgun so they can hear it real well. There's just something about the sound of a shotgun being pumped that makes people stop and think.

Neat thing, it doesn't even have to be loaded to sound nasty.

Dip**** drivers on the highway that think I'm leaving that space between me and the car ahead specifically for them to squeeze their rusty, smoke spewing, three color, slag heap into at 70 mph. Makes it even better when they immediately stomp on their brakes just to keep everyone else on their toes.

I'm sure this is the 1,000,000th time this has been said in this thread, but: people who mean "you're" and use "your". I can't stand it. It's really not that hard to figure out. If you need to use "are", but the ****ing 're in there.

Explain the difference to me. I actively avoid using either word because I don't know which is correct.

To Affect Is to Have An Influence on Something or Someone.

An Effect Is The Result Of Something Happening.

An Affect Can Lead To An Effect or Vice Versa But They Are Not Interchangable.

I wish I could double or triple thank LACon for this. It is a tremendous irritant to see the misuse of these words.

Went vs gone drives me crazy.

Pretty much everyone just says went when half the time gone is the correct word.

I went to the store. OK, everyone knows that.

But people use went incorrectly like this. I have went to the store. No it is I have gone to the store.

Wrong "Have the payments went out for these vendor id's??" Right - "have the payments gone out"

Not sure if this has been covered, but...

People who say "I'm just sayin" after completing a sentence.

When, or better yet how, did this blow up into the majority of people saying it???
