Is Bears star Brian Urlacher the Bulls' secret weapon for recruiting NBA MVP LeBron James?
Our colleague Vaughn McClure tipped us off to this interesting note.
The star linebacker and James got together for dinner at Gibsons before Game 4 of the recently concluded Bulls- Cavaliers playoff series. The outing was arranged by former Bears defensive back and Ohio native Jim Cantelupe, who was the captain of the 1996 Army football team and now is a money manager for Barclays Wealth. Actor Jeremy Piven, James' mother, Gloria, and Urlacher's brother, Casey, also attended.
During last year's playoff series between the Cavs and Hawks, James gave Urlacher the shoes off his feet after a 105-85 win in Cleveland. Urlacher sat courtside with Cantelupe for that game.
