Default 2010 NBA Playoffs: (3) Phoenix vs (6) Portland

Another series ruined by injury. Phoenix is playing some of their best ball ever right now, and Portland is without their best player, and if not he'll be very limited. Phoenix looks really locked in right not and they'd probably win this series anyway.

    Phoenix in 5.

Key matchup: Lamarcus Aldrige vs Amare Stoudemire

Two young, gifted bigs playing their best ball right now. It's going to be fun watching them go at each other for a 7-game series.

Poor blazers likely without Roy/ If he is out or less than 60%, then the Suns in 4. Otherwise suns in 6

Roy is having surgery, so he is out for the playoff. Blazers have no chance

How quickly things can change? It seems like only yesterday McMillan and Dre Miller had the heated argument, and appeared to be on the trading block

Most "heated arguments" are way overrated and reported on

Andre Miller was doing well yesterday because in times he was the main guy, if Roy was playing, there is not way in hell he gets as many touches he got yesterday, that is the one reason why him an the coach had some issues(he wants the ball more).

No doubt, Roy and Miller really cannot play together, each is a point guard that needs the ball

I thought Miller has been playing pretty well for awhile. The second half of the season he and Roy have been working well together. He isn't the ideal fit, but it can work.

I was very impressed by the Blazers yesterday. I figured they'd be tough to beat even without Roy but they are going to give Phoenix one heck of a series and maybe win it - even though I think they'll fall short in the end.

Suns did a very poor job on Miller - who may have a great series. Camby is probably going to get himself another very good contract with this play in this series - Robin Lopez injury will put a couple of additional millions in his bank account. Batum is one of the best defenders in the NBA and he did a terrific job on Nash. They ran the risk of helping on the pick'n'roll and giving so many open looks to Phoenix shooters but it worked.

Portland is only 6/7 deep though so their bench is going to be vulnerable in this series. Phoenix's bench has played well this season and should have a good advantage here. Bayless is an extremely streaky player and if he isn't playing well - scoring versus the weaker inside defence of Phoenix 2nd unit - , I don't think Portland has many chances of winning games.

The Portland Trail Blazers front office is maybe as stupid as the one here, how are they going to let their star player play after a week of having surgery? that is stupid, he is the franchise they are not winning anything this year, why not wait?

With Roy back, everything changes. It's a 3-game series snow, and the Blazers have an honest shot at winning.

I don't think they have a chance, my question is why are they playing Roy risking his long time health, they are not winning a champinship this year.

well, they just tied the series 2-2 with him making a solid contribution. So yes, they have a chance to win the series.

If they are all in agreement in taking the risk with his future health, then so be it. None of my business. It paid off for them today.

Simply put the doctors have said he is OK to play, and there is no risk of injuring it any further

Roy's injury was a meniscus tear. 20 years ago, when the alternative was open knee surgery, players would deal with the pain and play on it for year - then they'd ice and drain the knee often to deal with the swelling and inflammations.

No long term risks, it's like playing with knee arthritis except the surgery and the rest hopefully took away the pain; he may deal with soreness post-game but I guess he's going to be okay.

Nash is being very inconsistent making decisions on the pick'n'roll when Portland switches. Taking too long to do something. He should be destroying Aldridge and the likes that Portland switches on him.

Makes this series more interesting, the Suns had an huge advantage without Roy - it was pitiful to see Portland's inability to deal with the doubling of Miller+LMA.

Did anyone else see that "foul" on Marcus Camby midway through the third quarter? I think that takes the cake as the worst referee call I have ever seen.
    That'll do.

Did anybody see Brandon Roy's knee yesterday? his knee was huge, I still don't understand why he is playing.

yes it can, he was explaining to I forgot who it was maybe Cheryl Miller that he can't do a lot of things on the court and that he has to be careful with the knee, then they showed the knee and it was huge like a softball

The Doctors said he's good to go and couldn't hurt it any more. I'll take their word for it.
