    Post End of season housekeeping

I'm about to send out an end of the season email with info on next fall's draft, the dispersal draft, etc, pending the outcome of our playoffs, which has turned a bit interesting.

Before I send out the email, would everyone in ABA KL either post here, or send me a private message or email (scott@movie-hunt.com) with the email address for which you would like me to contact you.

Here's the draft order for the main draft, taking into account various trades throughout the year. If you see an error, let me know asap, so I can get it fixed.

(As to the new owners, current league owners had a discussion about drafting and considering how powerful some of the dispersal teams are/were, we decided that as expansion teams, so to speak, you guys, would draft at the end of the round, in the order that you accepted your invitations to join the league, which I sent out all at the same time. Considering how strong the players are in the dispersal draft, we think this is be a reasonable decision.)

Hey Skaut, I'll gladly play if you guys need another owner. I was in the middle of a depressive episode when I earlier turned it down. (Depression is good at making you not want to do things you enjoy.)

I'll be sending out this email later (I don't have my files with me right now) with the attachments of draft order, current rosters, ect, but I'm going to post it here so you guys can proof it to make sure I didn't miss anything:

The 2009-2010 ABA Keeper league is oh-vah!!

Congratulations to Hicks and his New Castle Trojans, this year’s champions and also to Redbull Yamaha, the finals runner-up. In one of the goofier finals we’ve had in years, it was a war of attrition as we had what I believe was the lowest scoring finals clinching game with Hicks prevailing by a score of 159.5-155. Yes, you read right! Both teams were hit with a variety of DNPs and they limped to the finish line in a weird finals.

Also, we bid farewell to Hicks, Doug, Rimfire and Jay Redd, who are leaving us for various reasons and welcome Bellisimo, Frostwolf, Diamond Dave and Soup is Good to fill the vacant slots. All of our new owners have experience with Sports.ws and will be fine, active owners.

    Expansion/Dispersal Draft

I’ve attached a list of the players who will be available for the ABA dispersal draft to this email. We’ll be having an expansion/dispersal draft a week or two before our regular draft in which our new team owners will draft 9 players to get them on par with our current team owners, who will have that same date as the deadline to submit their protected lists. Once the expansion/dispersal draft is over, I’ll put out everyone’s protected player lists, so you can prepare for the main draft.

    Summer Trades
As of right now, it looks like we’ll use August 1, 2010, as the opening day for trades over the summer. I send out a reminder in July. And like Rimfire before me, I’m easily confused, so no trading of draft picks beyond fall 2011 and no “lottery protected” or “top six protected” stuff either.

If you make a trade, here’s the process: Each trade participant has to contact me to verify the trade. E-mail’s best but a PM on PD works too. Once that happens I’ll send an e-mail out to the league announcing the trade and post it on PD.

Important 2010-2011 ABA KL season dates

August 1, 2010-Summer trading season begins

Early September 2010-League start-up preparation and we vote for draft dates for expansion/dispersal draft and main draft.

    October 2010-We hold both drafts.

Till then have a good summer taking a break from fantasy bball and let’s focus on re-energizing this league for next season, especially now that deadbeat Rimfire/Displaced Knick is FINALLY gone!!

(BTW new owners, here's a complete list of the players you'll be fighting for in the dispersal/expansion draft, just to whet you appetites and get your anticipation up over the summer. You'll be building a roster of 9 players in your draft, filling out your roster along with the rest of us, in the main draft. For your expansion/dispersal draft order, it'll be DiamondDave00, Frostwolf, Bellisimo, then Soup is Good for the 1st round, then, we'll reverse the order for the second round, etc, for nine rounds:

    G Rajon Rondo (BOS)
    G Tyreke Evans (SAC)
    G Aaron Brooks (HOU)
    G Jerryd Bayless (POR)

What's the fun in having LeBron? You snag him and a few decent starters and you have a championship team. I'd much rather get to try to scrap together a good team w/o having the nuclear missile of fantasy players.

I have a rules question. Are the expansion teams allowed to draft players who played in the NBA this year but were not on a team's roster? Or is the expansion draft limited to ONLY the players that were on the dissolved teams?

Got it. BTW, everyone, Kraft will not be back next year, so we'll be adding yet another new owner over the summer and the dispersal draft just a little bit bigger. When the time comes, I'll send out a list of all the players available in the expansion/dispersal draft.
