Thread: Chris bosh to pacers?

  1. #1

    Default Chris bosh to pacers?

Since the Pacers won't make the playoffs and are looking at the offseason right now, rumors have been coming up of a possible chance at Chris Bosh????? IDK if it's true or not but do you think there is a possible chance of acquiring Bosh? There's also rumors of getting DeMarcus Cousins in the draft or getting Amare Stoudemire in free agency. Derrick Favors??? What do u guys think??

    Do you have a link?

I would absolutely love Bosh coming here, but to no surprise, we cant sign him (because we have no money) so the only way we're getting Bosh would be through a sign and trade, which would most likely mean goodbye to Granger + others. Im from Toronto and Ive heard of Bosh to Indy. Why would Bosh chose Indy over NY (big city), MIA (Wade, Ocean Drive) or even his home town of Dallas where Cuban would be prepared to do anything (financially) to get him.

Cousins would definitely be drafted by the time we're picking. I dont see him dropping past 6.

Once again, we cannot get Amare via free agency unless we are talking about 2011 summer. We have that kind of money to spend this summer. If Amare/Bosh pick up their option this year and test the market next summer, then I would see the Pacers having a chance at them (a small one). But I dont see that happening. With a chance of a lockout and a new CBA, these big named free agents are going to want their contracts negotiated before all that comes up
"So, which one of you guys is going to come in second?" - Larry Bird before the 3 point contest. He won.

cant find the link but idk those rumors are true. it could be possible of getting cousins, but itll be really tough. ur right about bosh. i think the only way he might come to indy is if the pacers just give him a giant load of money. but thats not gonna happen. i know the amare thing wont happen this offseason. impossible. he probably might stay with the suns anyways. But I would look very forward to Cousins

of all the teams in the NBA that would have a shot at Bosh, the Pacers would be 28th or 29th on that list. Their best trade asset is something toronto doesn't want, because they already gave Turkoglu a king's ransom last summer.

Also, it's not polite to post about "rumors" that do not exist.

It wasn't about being the team everyone loved, it was about beating the teams everyone else loved.

Just because you wish it to happen doesn't necessarily make it a "rumor". I don't know what universe picking 10th equates to selecting DeMarcus Cousins or Derrick Favors out of this draft... It seems like there are enough threads on the board talking about who will be "realistically" available when we draft at 10 to consider this thread a strait waste of bandwidth!
    ...Still "flying casual"

mark my works, by the time we pick, Cousins will be gone. We had a chance before this whole huge winning spree, but not now.

And if Bosh is going via sign and trade, I will bet anything that Colangelo will make that team also take Hedo and his ridiculous contract

Yeah. Hicks already closed a previous thread of his. I guess this guy didn't get the idea.

For goodness sake guys, cut the poster some slack. Geez! He said right off the bat he didn't know if it was true. And all he asked was if we thought it would be a possibility. I don't see that as any more speculative than the draft thread, which doesn't yet take into account whether half those players will even be in the draft. It's not like he's trying to perpetuate a fraudulent story. What's the point of a forum if you can't discuss a different opinion without being slammed for it, even if in reality the suggestions are a long, looooong shot.

I don't think he'll be with the Raptors next year, but the Pacers aren't a team he will be on either

If you notice... the poster is 13 years old. Be easy on him. I like his enthusiasm for the possibilities of getting a good player. He may not know exactly how unrealistic those things might be. Hell... maybe we luck into the 3rd pick and take Cousins (I would prefer Favors/Turner, but that's besides the point). Thank you for posting "rocksballer58". One word of advice though... do a touch more research before you post or post legitimate places you have heard such rumors and you won't get such a negative reaction.

But don't you see? That is exactly the reason not to cut him slack.

Either the board is open to any kind of unsubstantiated rumor, or else it has a standard requiring a trade or player-acquisition post to have some sort of validity.

In the past, the standard has been that even rumors should be based on a link, or else should be posted in the trade proposal section where it can be discussed as the poster's own suggestion. This post violates the standard.

Ignoring the lack of source for a moment...

Wouldn't that be fun! We'll get Bosh. And then we'll get frustrated that he's really soft and not physical at all. So we'll ask him to beef up, he'll gain 20, 30 pounds of muscle mass and his knees won't cooperate. Then he'll miss a bunch of games, lose his explosiveness, won't be able to pass out of the double team, and no matter how much he does for the city we'll decide we don't like his attitude.

    Sound familiar?

Or we'll let him run around the perimeter like a supersized SG and then after watching him every game for a season we'll better understand how his stats look good "but why doesn't his team win more".

    Either way, I'll pass.
Why do the things that we treasure most, slip away in time
Till to the music we grow deaf, to God's beauty blind
Why do the things that connect us slowly pull us apart?
Till we fall away in our own darkness, a stranger to our own hearts
And life itself, rushing over me
Life itself, the wind in black elms,
Life itself in your heart and in your eyes, I can't make it without you

Maybe all that, but he'd be potent if we ran an isolation play for him every time down the court!

Bosh has a player option to be a free agent.

If Pat Riley is on line one calling Bosh's agent from Miami to do a max deal of signing Bosh plus Wade (which they can afford)

or Donnie Walsh is on line two calling from New York to do a max deal of Bosh plus somebody else (which they can also afford)

then I think that the agent isn't picking up line 3 when Larry Bird's number shows up on the caller ID.

    just a hunch.

Isn't that against the rules? Doesn't the NBA have tampering issues?

Isn't that philosophically redundant? Once substantiated, tis no longer a rumor.
