Okay, the pairings have been released, and game times are forthcoming...

It looks like Notre Dame plays at 12:25ET Thursday. Butler plays at approximately 4:55ET Thursday. Purdue plays at approximately 2:30ET Friday.

I don't understand how Kansas and Kentucky got paired with the top 2 2-seeds.

And Duke got the easiest path imaginable.

the only thing I can think of, is the committee emphasized location more than strength in doling out the regions.

So for example, if OSU was the best #2 seed, its "reward" wasn't playing the weakest #1 (Duke), but playing closer to home (Milwaukee).

Also agreed that the South is the weakest bracket.

Mike and Mike had the committee head Dan Guerrero on this morning and he was asked about placing West Virginia and Ohio State (the two best 2 seeds) in the same region as Kansas and Kentucky (the two best 1 seeds). Guerrero said essentially, yes, geography played a great role in the process so that West Virginia and Ohio State ended up closer to home in the early rounds and regional sites.

I'm in on the Pick'em. I still haven't filled my bracket out, but I've been thinking Syracuse for most of the season. I think, despite the injury, I'm still going to go that way. Then I have to decide how far I think the Temple/Cornell winner is going to go, as I had pegged both of those teams as Sweet 16-caliber, and now they're playing each other in the first round.

Man I was sweating it there for a minute when it looked like Villanova was going to lose. I have them losing the title game to Syracuse. That would have wiped out a whole region worth of points in the first round for me.

Great games so far! BYU won in double overtime, Villanova barely pulled one out in one OT, and Notre Dame falls by a point. Seems like the Tournament has gotten off to a great start.

7-0 on my picks so far.

But I have a LOT of upset picks in my bracket, so I'm sure it won't last.

Well, Ohio finally busted my bracket. But I don't like Georgetown anyway (and I didn't have them getting out of the second round), so it's okay.

    Currently 10-1.

Obama's picks are online at espn.com.

needless to say I had gtown in the final game.

Hope you boys got to see Monroe when you had the chance.

Butler looked vulnerable to the press in the second half even though it didn't hurt them... this time. It yielded a couple of turnovers, some confusion, and some lucky bounces that probably should've been turnovers.

I'd be working on the press before Saturday if I was Butler. Murray State has speed so you'd think they could use it effectively.

As disciplined as Butler looked it surprised me to see them not looker smoother against the press...

Anyone that's followed Butler closely this year know if that was a fluke or an Achilles heel that was exposed?
Nuntius was right. I was wrong. Frank Vogel has retained his job.

stinks Bassett had to make in rain and bust your Bracket. Sampson was a great recruiter @ IU got the talent but had to do it illegal. Stinks Dakich couldnt coach as a fill in as well

It's not something I think they're overly concerned about. UTEP was supposed to beat them with their big, athletic frontcourt because Butler didn't have the size or athletic ability to match up with them.

So much for that theory. Butler does what Butler does. Other teams have to figure them out and stop them to win. Butler is a very well coached team, very high B-ball IQ, very patient ............... very good.

So much for that...15-0 Kansas run.

Lehigh might be the worst team in this tourney.

Looks like the Big East turned into the Big Least. ND, Gtown, Marquette all out and Nova should have gotten beat too. That league had better hope that Syracuse and West Virginia bring it.
