Default Early Bird Meets Bird?? For STHs....

I just happened to see this on Pacers.com and I wondered if any of you who have just renewed your full season tickets are going to get this offer as well? About time the Pacers offered an experience like this before you buy your tickets, and hopefully it will be open to all full season ticket holders. And also, hopefully it will be a nicely-ran opportunity and not something cheap put on by the Pacers. I would hope that you'd be able to actually communicate with Larry during the breakfast and maybe even have a chance at autographs as well. This could either go good for the Pacers ticket sales people (by having a good event put on and statisfying fans with having breakfast with Bird plus getting some time to talk to him/autographs/etc), or it could go bad for them (a poorly-ran event of which the season ticket holders are upset with how the event went). All in all, seems like a desperate move by the Pacers, so hopefully it does work out for them. Any thoughts???

edit: here's a link if anybody wants to see the full details:

I just e-mailed my rep about this. I like the idea of breakfast with Bird. I especially like the idea of getting Bird's autograph on something other than a ticket!

^^agreed about his autograph on something other than a ticket. The sad thing is, he'll probably give you his "LB" scribble instead of his nice autograph that he puts on tickets. You might luck out though being as it is a full season ticket holder event.

From what I understood, this is for new STH's only, not renewals. But I wouldn't be surprised if your rep(s) could work this out for you. It doesn't hurt to ask.

They were using this as a renewal incentive at one of the games before the deadline expired, so I suspect there will be some previous STHs there.

My ticket rep just e-mailed me back. The reply is "The offer for the Larry Bird breakfast is for Club, Lower Level and Courtside new buyers."

Could someone please explain to me why there is no mention of this on the Pacers website? Every link I clicked on said if you renew by April 14 you would get breakfast with Larry Bird. Nowhere on the entire Pacers website did it say anything at all about needed to be a new STH, or needed to be Club, Lower Level, or Courtside.

An honest mistake on the part of the website people? Or, bait and switch?

I explained the website situation to my rep. Response: "Yes, the website is wrong and we are getting it taken care of. It definitely is just for courtside, lower level or club level new buyers. The website is definitely misleading and I really appreciate you bringing it to our attention."

Oh well. If it sounds too good to be true............

    Agreed.

And this sounds to me like it will turn "bad" like I said for the Pacers and their ticket sales people...this could have been a huge homerun for them, but then they make it limited to various STHs. I wish the Pacers tried to take care of their fans/spectators/STHs as well as most other teams do.

Website still not updated. Latest info to me is that there will be no further offers to current season ticket holders. The best offers came during the renewal period.

lol, lousy. imo, they should be a little more worried about current STHs than getting new ones as until this team starts winning, there will be fewer new ones than current ones.

That's exactly why they are doing this. They figure current STH are going to renew anyways if they've stuck around this long. New STH will need incentive.

And this is why I was so annoyed by their overall pitch for renewals. This is a big money investment and the payoff is a cattle call breakfast with Bird?

Cripes, I'd have more fun at a free player signing event. It's not even that I don't like Bird or would find this a bit fun, but it's not like some major thing to say thanks for your $3-10K investment in a team that stinks and currently shows very little future vision.

I like how they pitched stuff that I already was getting with 1/2 season BLR seats this year, like "hey, you can still park on the 3rd floor" and "you get access to the BLR" (um, duh?).

They might as well say "new cars for sale....NOW WITH WHEELS!"

A book I have no interest in. Or free tickets to another game, which won't be better than what I'm buying. I mean it's not really much to give up if you are in wait for a firing mode.
