Guys as short as 6'5" can post up Murph...who is listed at 6'11", not 6'10". Anyway, I'm just glad his contract is one day shorter than yesterday.
This game was the most impressive win of the year IMO. I actually started watching games again since TJ is out. The team looks different in a good way. If TJ returns and starts getting minutes again, I intend to change the channel again.
...but as good as this game looked, a much more impressive showing will be if they can get more of these types of wins next year during the first half of the season...when it might actually count toward a playoff run.
BTW, we are 14-12 without TJ...6-2 the last 8....and we just completed our second 5 game winning streak of the season with a victory over a strong opponent...with McBob getting big minutes and +14 on the plus-minus. Murphy negative 3 on plus-minus (of course). TJ not on the floor. Just another day at the office.....
Coaching would be easy for JOb if he'd just listen to most of the people on this board.
Regarding the wish for the Pacers to lose in order to have a high pick, I'm at the point where my thought is: "Damage done."
That ship (picking top 4/5) has sailed, so I don't really care one way or another now.
Regardless, wins like last night I'll take any time. That was a blast to watch.
Great win! The lottery is a crap shoot. With our traditional luck, there was no way we were getting into the top 4 anyway. I don't see how winning games against very talented play-off teams is "meaningless." The younger players are getting burn and experience as well. I am sure winning begets chemistry which, in turn, begets wins. Go Pacers!
Granger game changer
Slick: Boom Baby! Boom, Boom, Boom!
so does this win surge mean JOB will be back again next season?
– Utah's Carlos Boozer on the Pacers"They played hard and they’re a talented group. They play together. Their future might look really bright."
If Carlos Boozer says it then it must be true. Our future MIGHT be bright.
Hey, Obie, was this one of those "irrelevant" wins?
There are two types of quarterbacks in the league: Those whom over time, the league figures out ... and those who figure out the league.
Give the man credit, his teams play really well when they are out of playoff contention and the wins don't count for anything!
Justin, you’re complaining
Over threes that Danny’s draining,
Pain pierces, sharp as splinter,
dominates at center, Roy
And, though other fans make merry
When we beat an adversary
You’re persistently contrary
And of winning wary, very!
Ah! as the winning games continue
Can you ever find it in you?
To admit we weren’t demented
When we said we were contented?
Or will you persist in yawning?
Will it never start to dawning
That you and the doomsayers
Were wrong about our players?
That, when Brandon, Roy and AJ
Launch a scorching, scoring heyday
Or when twelfth man, namely, Josh
Shows professional panache!
Or when even Earl’s assisting,
Finds you ever, still persisting
In insisting that its tragic
When the Pacers score like magic?
As the season grown yet older
You come to such sights ever colder
And while we are all delighted
Our joy, in you, is unrequited
It’s the Pacers we are strong for,
But it’s the lottery you long for.
(In response to the recent haiku epidemic, here's a more Manley verse.)

And I won't be here to see the day
It all dries up and blows away
I'd hang around just to see
But they never had much use for me
In Levelland. (James McMurtry)
If the darksider vote comes up, can I vote for a person I ignored? Will that choice not exist.
A. Pessimistic poster
B. Bemoaning Baffler
D. Just let it go demoter.
Or will I see the name and be allowed to vote?
Ahh who am I kidding we all know who will when and he is not on my ignore list.
