Default Redskins ship Campbell to Raiders

    http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/draft1...ory?id=5132638

The Oakland Raiders, after making a deal that shipped out their leading tackler for the past four years, added a possible starting quarterback Saturday in a deal with the Washington Redskins for Jason Campbell.

In acquiring Campbell, the Raiders added a year to his existing contract, the quarterback told ESPN.com's Matt Mosley. He will make $4.5 million in 2011.
I hate that the pick in a 4th rounders in 2012, but I am happy we finally have a regime that seems to value draft picks and doesn't like handing them out like candy.

So much for the Jamarcus Russell experiment.

Bigger FAIL - Jamarcus Russell or Ryan Leaf ??

I think this is a pretty good trade for both teams. The Redskins needs always need draft picks, and some say Oakland was one decent QB away from making it to the playoffs last year.

JaMarcus will likely be third string next year, ouch.

I heard on ESPN that he may be cut as early as Monday

Yeah JaMarcus is going to be cut, not third string. He'll latch on with someone as a backup but it won't be Oakland. Or, someone might try to convert him to TE. Those are his only two shots. If it doesn't happen for him this season he'll be in the CFL.

I think he will do well in Oakland if they can ever get their running game rolling. Jason is a good QB with a solid professional work ethic. He has to be better than Jamistake Russell
