And now its not only being advertised on Pacers.com, but effectively it also is being advertised on Pacers Digest.

Oh the irony. Maybe theyre smarter than what we think.

You bet they are! They are skilled professional marketing experts -- not a bunch of waiftards sitting around trying to get attention for themselves.
And I won't be here to see the day
It all dries up and blows away
I'd hang around just to see

Perhaps O'B has the "waiftard" in mind for small ball purposes...if only he were eligible for the draft this summer...

I'm irritated somewhat by the ads, too, but I understand why they do it.

Unfortunately, I suspect that the advertised concerts will attract a higher revenue from ticket and merchandise sales than virtually any Pacers game has for about 3 years now. Also, it shows that the Pacers are concerned about promotion of everything that goes on at Conseco while the negotiations with the CIB continue, as well as boosting revenue from a little advertising. At least the Pacers are not advertising pregame, halftime, or postgame concerts from these performers as added benefits for buying tickets to games.

And here I thought I was going to have to wait until Portland came to town to see Diener again.

I could not care less about the music advertisements. At least it is not a pop up banner or something that forces you close it out before you can proceed through the webpage. I am more annoyed at seeing Dunleavy's face on the main page.

I did have to laugh at the fact their web developer is that lazy. Is it really that hard to change the drop down box color on their CSS page that they used for the template? Just change it to Pacer blue with the white text. I think all of the NBA teams used the same template for their webpages with a few little tweeks.
I like Pacers.com the way it is thank you! At least you can find what you are looking for. Some sites you think the web designer gets paid for the changes he makes.

And my chief complaint about web design for the whole

And my chief complaint about web design for the whole Internet is the great majority if people that know how to construct a web page seem to know little to nothing about placing things logically.

It's an internal advertisement which is fine by me. I don't like the placement in the news feed though. There should be a clear distinction from editorial and advertisments.

The Pacers do benefit from people going to The Fieldhouse if it's for a Pacers game or not. I hope it's proven that concerts in the news feed get a higher click through rate than other banner positions or it would be pointless. We all want the Pacers to do better financially and this is something they feel will contribute at least in a minor way.
