Default Kings replace Divac with Ostertag

Interesting. I heard on the radio it was a one-year deal. Probably the $2M+ they were offering Vlade.

I'm really surprised he didn't go to Dallas. He's from there and really wanted to go there, and the Mavs could sure use his size. But OTOH, Sac's a much better team.

Man, I'm replying to the wrong threads with this info!

Good pickup by the Kings. I think. It looks good on paper anyway.

    What is point forward?
Don't ask Marvin Harrison what he did during the bye week. "Batman never told where the Bat Cave is," he explained.

The Mavs already have a 7'6" center and a 7'5" center. What more size at C do they need?

It wasn't about being the team everyone loved, it was about beating the teams everyone else loved.

Maybe I should have said "size and bulk", instead.

Ostertag at the veteran's minimum is very good value, if healthy. A solid backup C for a quarter of what Pollard makes, roughly.
The poster "pacertom" since this forum began (and before!). I changed my name here to "Slick Pinkham" in honor of the imaginary player That Bobby "Slick" Leonard picked late in the 1971 ABA draft (true story!)

I think Brad will be back at center this year. No Shaq over there he should be fine. He put up good numbers at the forward spot last year, but Webber will be starting again, so Brad's only spot is center occasionly playing point forward. When i heard Osterfat signed with the Kings my reaction was No big deal.
