Welker also recovering from torn rotator cuff

W. Welker.jpgWes Welker's offseason of rehab just got a lot harder.
The Patriots wide receiver is recovering from a torn rotator cuff in addition to the reconstructive surgery he underwent on his knee.
The blog Big Rips had the news first, and multiple Patriots reporters have since confirmed it. The Boston Globe reports Welker has already undergone surgery.
It's unclear how this will change Welker's recovery timetable, if at all. In most cases, his knee rehabilitation would still be his primary focus. The severity of his shoulder tear is uncertain, but the message is clear:
Julian Edelman better get ready for a major role in 2010.
