    Default STH.....GO OR NO GO

With just 12 home games left in the season, STH my questions to you are.....

    1. How long have you held ST?
    2. What kind of package do you hold and are they uppers or lowers?
    3. Go or no go? simply meaning with how horrible the team is are you going to keep going to the games?
    4. Why?

    1. This is my first year.
    2. Corner Balcony - cheapest package they have
    3. I still go to all games unless I have a schedule conflict with school.
    4. I would feel like I wasted my money on tickets if I didn't go, and I always get my hopes up that the young guys will actually play.

No one on this board sits next to me. There is a reason for that.

    This is my third year.
    First row, corner, balcony.
I'm about done going to the games this year. Not because of the losses, but other circumstances (I don't like how O'Brien runs things, the rotations, not enough time for the young guys, boring, then otherwise I'm just mentally burned out, live 50 minutes away, and don't have a lot of coin to burn on gas if I don't want/have to right now). Only reason I even consider it is who I sit with. Otherwise I'd be completely done.

    Second year
    Club full season
Keep going because I don't want to lose the team now that I've finally gotten back to Indiana. All things considered, this is not the worst period in Pacer history - yet...

I didn't get season tickets this season for family, work, personal and financial reasons. I had been a STH since 1994. But I would still be going if I had tickets. And no I would carry a sign or put a bag over my head, or do anything differently than I always do.

Which section are you in? I'm in that corner also, section 213.

1.) Second year of full STH, although last year while not being a STH I still attended 80% of the games.
2.) Section 201 behind the basket closest to the Pacers bench.
    3.) Yes.
4.) As much as I dislike O'Brien and his attitude/rotations I still enjoy just being at Conseco. It sounds corny, but there is something to just being there even if I'm not satisfied with the product on the floor. My buddy (BigJon7501) and I have tickets together and although sometimes after a loss we don't even speak to each other on the way home, we always have a good time during the game. Also, I've gotten my girlfriend involved this season and she really enjoys it so it's fun for us to go.

As a side note, my girlfriend and I were watching the game against Portland on Wednesday night together. First off, she's a keeper for just staying up to watch that horrid game. Secondly, if anyone remembers the alley oop that Price through to McRoberts late in the game this was her response, "In your face O'Brien." I don't think I have ever been more proud of her. I hadn't even had a chance to react to the dunk and she had already said that. Definite keeper.

Don't forget the pre-nup. Eh, who am I kidding, she's obviously the real deal and has no problem with the "or worse" part of relationships if she can watch the Pacers play consistently enough to immediately blurt out the exact appropriate response for that moment. Probably no pre-nup required if she can be a faithful Pacers fan during these tough times.

Is there a section where a lot of board members sit?

I'd hate to sit alone as a new Hoosier.

    You must have EAGLE EYES!
How can you tell that it's Duke meandering down to the lower level seats all the way from your balcony seats?
Coach Vogel on the Chicago crowd in game 4 : "I only heard pacers fans. I didn't see any red, I saw Pacers fans I saw yellow and blue, and I heard Pacers chants. That's all I heard the whole game."

My wife is coming along pretty well herself along these lines. My only problem with her is how many games she's had to miss after I added the 2nd seat just for her. She will watch games on TV with me too, and keeps her ear out for general Pacer news at time. She's come a long way.

    1/2STH, 6th row, 1st year, last year had a mini-plan in the 2nd row
I estimate that even without ST I've spent at least $1K on tix every season, just cherry picking at the box office. A couple of years the playoffs alone ran up a healthy bill.

Back in 2000 I adopted a "go to a few games, but always sit really close" mentality, thus no ST in the balcony or something. Just my personal approach. But I consider it unofficial tenure as a "STH".

I'm BARELY still going, but then I read USF's comment about the atmosphere and I have to agree with that. I'm also a sucker for just the general NBA buzz before games. Less the fireworks and noise, more the hallways, smells, etc.

The ONLY reason I'm not renewing now or even considered not going is Jim O'Brien. Every other aspect of the team I understand. I would never stop going because they drafted Tyler, for example, and if he were out there I'd be rooting for him to improve (I don't expect him to, but I WANT him to).

Losses mean NOTHING to me. Neither do wins when they come cheap.

I'm just tired of having Lucky Chucks for breakfast every game, spiced with jerky comments and poor player development. And even then I could almost tolerate the chucking part if JOB was simply supportive of the younger players.

He doesn't need to say "these guys are stars", just don't say "these guys stink". I want a coach who TRIES TO MAKE THE KIDS BETTER rather than knocking them down for no good reason.

There's only one realistic objective for this season, and that's trying to develop the kids and find out if any of them are really long-term guys. They need to play a lot to do that, both to grow and to get a really good feel for their future potential. I'd rather be a Nets fan watching Lopez, Lee, CDR and TWill struggle through all those losses. It would at least be interesting.

    1. 2nd year, although last year didn't TECHNICALLY count as a "full season ticket holder" since I bought the Mountain Dew Big Slam package. Still had tickets for every game and only missed 1 game (because of work).
    2. Balcony level, section 206 (upgraded to 208, center court for next season)
    3. I go to every game I possibly can. Missed 2 games this season, 1 due to work and 1 due to being sick.
    4. Because I want to go to every Pacers game that I can. Why else would someone buy season tickets?

    • 5th year as a STH.
    • Balcony Section 221, Row 10. Seats 8-9.
    • Go. I live in Bedford. We have rocks. Lots of rocks. Nothing to do in Bedford but stare at rocks. And rednecks.
    • I keep going to the games because it's time I get to spend with my friends. We all enjoy Pacers Basketball at some capacity, and the Fieldhouse still is the best place to watch basketball.
Plus the view ain't too bad, either.
