I've read multiple reports saying that Jackson played overseas after he was drafted and before he got back to the NBA. I didn't really think much of it until I checked the NBL (Australian bball competition) website and saw this article...

Former Sydney Kings import Stephen Jackson has been involved in a sign-and-trade deal in the NBA which will see the American swingman earn as much as Australian $59 million.

Jackson, who played four games for the Kings in 1998, was sent from the Atlanta Hawks to the Indiana Pacers for forward Al Harrington. He signed a six-year contract worth an estimated US$38 - 44 million, depending on incentives.
Aparantly he played 4 relatively average games (5pts/game) for the Sydney Kings, then broke his foot and was sent packing.

That is all
