Default Postgame game thread: Pacers win in Washington

IMO by far the best win of the season. First time I felt like the team hung in fought and pulled it out when things weren't going so well in the second half. Most gams this season when things started going bad, the Pacers fell apart.

on the very last play, I could have easily seen the refs have ruled that the foul was on the shot by Mike and Mike clearly didn't get the ball off, so the foul was after the game was over. Of course the foul was called on the pass. Then I knew Mike would make the two free throws.

Nice to see the two most important offensive plays of the game were pick and rolls for Tyler

We'll see if O'Brien gets any credit on here

(I do have a question was Tyler intentional missed free throw his call or did JOB call it or was it just the players call? OK just hear Jim's post game comments, and sounds like the coach called it

Tyler didn't get tight in the clutch. I thought he did very well for a rookie being asked to show up in crunch time.

yeah he pretty much threw the ball at the rim, that was definately an intentional miss. There didn't seem like any time for Jim give any signal, unless they had discussed it a few plays ahead of time. Jim was way on the other end of the court, I think that was a call by Mike and Tyler.

Tyler looking better by the day. Plus Pacers looking more cohesive on the defense with Watson, Rush and Tyler in. I also saw less desperate shots overall.

If you look at Mike and Hans before Hans shot the free throw Mike was telling him something about it. Then when Hans missed it and Mike got the foul Hans went over to Mike and got real excited. I just thought maybe those two planned that.

Mark Boyle said it was intentional.
And I won't be here to see the day
It all dries up and blows away
I'd hang around just to see
But they never had much use for me

And I think that is something that a lot of fans have been asking for, but at least looking so far Tyler has earned it. Win or lose I am very impressed with him.

Okay you obviously didn't watch it then. Because he clearly executed a chest pass to the rim.

I thought this was Tyler's best game by far. Sure that might seem rather obvious, but first game he had a huge impact late (I know he usually isn't on the court late) but the Wizards were having trouble controlling Tyler late and as I was watching the game in the last 6 minutes I just kept hoping Tyler would get the ball.

Huh? The ball would have shattered the glass if it didnt hit rim first! If that doesnt tell ya then it was obvious by his shooting motion ( or lack thereof ).

I thought the hard foul by Heywood was smart.. Put a rookie on the line late in the game. I think that was the same FT attempts as the intentional miss?

I won't argue, but why would you do that when you could tie the game with 13 seconds left? That makes no sense whatsoever. Oh, well, at least the Ps won, and that's all that matters.

Are you sure we were down 2? I thought we were down 3. *edit* Or apparently 4.

Good to get rewarded for the effort tonight. I would have hated to be in here talking about how 'the effort was there...guys played well, but these losses happen.'

This team needs the positive reinforcement.

    -----------------------------

We were down by 4...Tyler made one. Then Mike made two after being fouled on the rebound. That made us down by one when TJ drove the length of the floor with 6 secs.

The rest can be seen on replays tonight, I expect.

Me too, I wanted them to keep feeding him. I was quite impressed with him tonight

I loved how the fans kept booing him, I think that got him fired up, though he never showed any emotion that he even noticed it... except for his monster game. That is one thing I really like about him, when he takes a hard foul, he never puffs himself up and tries to go after another player or badmouths anyone... unlike a certain PF that used to play here named Jermaine. He just plays the game and gets the job done, I hope he can keep it up and our coach starts trusting him down the stretch like tonight.
