This is a type of trade we should be aiming for with our expiring contracts next year.
"I keep wondering the same thing. Last week they had the 4th worst record in the league, had an 11.9 percent chance of winning the lottery and were in line to land a franchise type player like Derrick Favors or DeMarcus Cousins. This week? They have a 1.7 percent chance of winning the lottery, have the 8th worst record and are in line to draft Cole Aldrich or Greg Monroe. Way to go Jim O'Brien. Rest Danny Granger the rest of the season (if it isn't too late) and give Josh McRoberts lots of minutes. That ought to do it." - Chad Ford on winning meaningless games

Way to go Jim, you may have just put our franchise back another 4+ years.

HELL NO, because after next season we own JT and Murphy nothing, notta, zilch.

We would still owe Arenas $61,000,000 from 2011-2014 and he's not close to the player he once was.

No thanks, just way too much money headed to Arenas for a guy who will never be like he was.

At this point, you really don't want Arenas with his health and his contract. He's getting paid a ton to not lead anyone anywhere.

There was a brief, and very decisive, and altogether unprecedented, outburst of genuine officiating, and it was directed at the best player in the world, and that, my dear young person, simply is not done."

If we're going to get an all-star caliber player to play alongside Danny and the youngsters, we're going to have to be willing to take on someone with some warts. I completely agree that Arenas may not be the guy we want, but any player we're going to have a chance at is going to come with a bit of baggage.

The only recently traded star players who didn't come with some issues were Gasol and Garnett. We don't have the pieces to make an offer like Boston did for Garnett, and Gasol trades don't happen everyday.

All I'm doing is looking for highly paid stars who are wearing out their welcome with their current teams.

I think I'd rather trade for Elton Brand... and that says a lot
