I'm not worried. Actually, I'm excited because we'll see more of our young guns step up. I think this team will pull off a win against the Blazers. Dunleavy, Rush, and Hibbert are going to be crucial during his absence.

As an owner of a professional sports team I'm pretty sure I wouldn't want to bench the players that most of my money is going to.

It's like buying a nice pair of shoes, but you can only wear them on a nice day, and they cannot by any means get wet or dirty. So what do you do? You keep them in the closet an in the back of your mind you really wish you can get your money's worth, but you keep putting off wearing them. By the time you decide to get them out of the closet, dust mites have had their way with them and they're ruined. You paid for nothing. You can't even donate them to Goodwill. Or your foot is now too big for them an they're out of style so no one wants them.

Basically, you get what you can out of your shoes while they're still in good shape. If you ruin them while wearing them at least you got to wear them.

Benching our highest-paid veterans AKA fancy shoes not only ruins them but also decreases their value over time.

This really pisses me off. Granted its nice to know that how he can't injure it any further and will probably have the opportunity to get fully healthy. But that fact that this was completely preventable! They could have sat him in the preseason, for the first month of the season, and this thing would have probably been completely healed and not escalated to a torn tissue. Thank you training staff and management. The NBA's best and brightest. Doesn't know how to protect Franchise talent from chronic injuries.

    Mike Dunleavy! We need you!

With him down, it can open doors to players like Mike, Dahntay, and Brandon. I think those 3 guys can really make a difference and step up in his place.

And we wonder why our team is so bad offensively when I star player hasn't practiced with the team for the entire season, because of lingering injury.

Perhaps they should pull the deal for Tmac now. Send get rid of Murphy and Ford, and get into Free Agency this summer.

What burns me up is that he played on that heel for weeks.

However when your most expensive pair of shoes has a hole right in the middle that allows anything from the outside in then it might be more prudent to wear your $20 pair of shoes you got from Wal-Mart.

Wearing them because you want to get your money's worth out of them is self defeating the first time it rains, snows or the grass is wet with dew.

Benching our highest-paid veterans AKA fancy shoes does nothing to thier value one way or the other because the only value they will ever have is as expiring contracts to teams who want the salary cap relief.

I don't recall anyone advocating benching Granger.
Well, I was advocating sitting him down until the heel was completely well, but I'm sure that's not what you meant

I was, as well, but it was more because I thought it was negatively affecting his play, not because I was afraid of a more serious injury.

How much are your expensive shoes worth if showcasing them causes interest in your product to decline and you are losing customers?

Alright, folks. Time to close up shop. There it goes. No playoffs this year. Send in the clowns, and not Hicks. He scares the childrens.
Ugh. This makes me mad because you could see it coming. It was clear the heel wasn't getting any better. I've been wanting the team to force him to sit for weeks now. sigh.

I didn't say anything about holes. I wasn't being specific.

I think worst case scenario is most likely. And that's more Watson/Ford com o time once Watson is recovered from his hamstring.

If the high-paid guys really did compare to a nice pair of shoes, no one would want them to be benched.

The problem is they're low-quality to mediocre-quality pairs of shoes that you overpaid for.

Honestly, I know this is taboo around here, nobody likes doing it, it compromises the integrity of the game, yada yada yada...but is it time to start, ahem, shutting down guys with minor injuries and letting the young guys get some extended run?

Don't you mean almost every player in the league? I take it you missed summer league if that is what you want.

Thank you. My point was that I don't care who they are, I'm spending my money and I'm going to make good use of it. Watching my benjamins sit on the sideline isn't making good use. I don't care how bad they are playing. They'll play one way or the other.

I want to jump in, just because this shoe analogy is fantastic.

If all of your shoes are going to give you bunions on your feet anyway, what does it matter?
