Thread: A little praise for Jeff Foster

Default A little praise for Jeff Foster

I know there isn't a lot of positivity out there, but after watching tonight's game I really wanted to make an appreciation thread for Jeff Foster. I know he has his limitations, but I was really impressed with his effort tonight. He's clearly in a lot of pain (I'm assuming back) out there, but he sacrifices his body every game with little regard for his future.

For some reason it really stood out tonight. Did anyone else notice? He looks like he can barely walk, but he's diving towards the bench for a loose ball. I hope the fact that he's willing to sacrifice so much in his condition will rub off on some of the guys like TJ, Murphy, Rush, etc. We definitely need it.

He deserves the chance to go to a winner and help them win a championship. I love Jeff's hustle and defense, and he should make for a decent piece of trade bait come the deadline for some more talent.
"It's just unfortunate that we've been penalized so much this year and nothing has happened to the Pistons, the Palace or the city of Detroit," he said. "It's almost like it's always our fault. The league knows it. They should be ashamed of themselves to let the security be as lax as it is around here."

Jeff should start over Murphy at the 4, and be backed up by Hands Bro.

Hibbert at the 5, backed up by Solo.

    Murphy...to another team.

Jeff's one of those guys where you wish you could put his brain, heart, hustle into the body of a more talented player.

I'd like to hop on your enthusiasm, but it feels like applauding Anthony Johnson in the Carlisle days.

Yeah, he was good. But he was the coach's crutch. The decent to mediocre, safe option that prevented us from being great or being terrible.

“People talk about how quiet he [McKey] is, but he’s really been helpful. He gives a lot of insight to players in how to guard certain teams and what their weaknesses are. The whole team listens to him, and it makes my job a lot easier. Having players like him is what pro basketball is all about for me.” —Larry Brown

I'd take Anthony Johnson right now, crutches and all.

The Foster and Hibbert idea would be worth a try, IMO. It doesn't have to be Foster or Hibbert.
