Default Tennessee at Indianapolis - Game thread - 12/6/09

(5-6) Since plugging in QB Vince Young the Titans are riding high on a 5 game win-streak and hope to continue it against rival Indianapolis.

(11-0) After clinching the AFC South last weekend against the Texans, the Colts hope to get closer to winning the AFC with a win against a Titans club that is playing great football.

Well, another tough game for the Colts. It's been an entertaining season to understate things. 5 consecutive games that they've trailed in the 4th, yet still won. I wouldn't mind them losing a game in the regular season - if for nothing else just to take the mediots off their backs in talking about an undefeated season. I just don't want to see it happen at home. I'd rather have home field really mean something - 'nobody has won here all season, what makes you think you can ??' - going into the playoffs.

So, let's stick with the same formula. Fall behind early, make the necessary adjustments, win the game in the 4th. 34-23.

Wow, Simspson through the hole for a nice return for once. I wish he could do that once or twice a game.

If Clark can get this 1st down here (it looks close), the Colts will have a chance to take control. So far the game is leaning our way, but you get the sense it could turn on a dime right now.

As I type that, they gave us the 1st and Addai gives us ANOTHER one.

Addai is having a very good game so far. They owe this drive to him so I'd give him a crack at another TD. And that's exactly what happens as I type this.

Wow. Tennessee rarely puts a ball on the ground like that. They throw some INT's, but they hardly every fumble.

Lacey with the pick. At first I thought that was a bad decision by Young but it's pretty obvious that Britt cut his route and VY thought he was going to keep going.

21-3 Colts in the first half. I would guess any fears that the Colts would come out flat again are put to rest. Can't let up though. The Titans still have time to score before halftime and will get the ball to start the second half so you gotta keep your foot on the throat here.

Young scampers for a first down while Mathis is being held for about 5 straight seconds...

This is exactly why I said not to let up on them. They got themselves back into the game with that drive.

Wow. I can't believe they got a field goal out of that. I also can't believe that Tennessee player being dumb enough to give the Colts field position.

OMG. Is anyone watching Saints and Skins? The Skins were up 17-10 with NO driving down to tie before the half. The Skins intercepted Brees, and tried to run it back. They fumbled and Robert Meacham ran it back for a tying score. Unbelievable play, at least a flukey as that play Denver scored on to beat Cincy in week 1.

Anyone see that Colts blitz. They might not have gotten to him, but they did make him throw it when he didn't want to. I love this defense today.

They have to go for it here. A FG does them no good. If the Colts hold them this will be huge. And again Freeney was held on Vince's run. When he did his spin move the guy had him around the neck. They announcers are raving over Vince being so mobile without mentioning that on two of his longest runs Mathis and Freeney were about to eat him for breakfast before being held.

Defensively, this is the best the Colts have been in the Manning era other than the Super Bowl run.

The defense has been as impressive as the offense today, if not more so.

And for anyone not paying attention, the Skins just scored again and are up 10 on the Saints mid 3rd. No lead is safe against the Saints though, but The Skins are hangin' one on em so far.
