Default Al Harrington to the Bulls for Tyrus Thomas?

    From REALGM through Yahoo Sports:

Bulls And Knicks Discuss Tyrus For Harrington Trade

Yahoo! Sports reports that the Bulls and Knicks are discussing a trade that would send Tyrus Thomas and Jerome James to New York in exchange for Al Harrington.

Several sources believe that Gar Forman would sign off on such a deal but Donnie Walsh is so far not ready to include Harrington.
"Nothing is imminent, but both sides would like to figure out a way to do this," said a league executive who was briefed on the discussions.

The Bulls are talking about Thomas with several clubs as the forward rehabs from a fractured forearm.

Both Thomas and Harrington are in the final season of their contracts.

Adrian Wojnarowski also mentions Andre Miller, Tracy McGrady and Elton Brand as players who could be dealt this season.

From what I've seen from TT he's recently improved quite a lot- but I admit I don't watch too many Bulls games and I know TT was hurt recently.

Either way, I don't think I'd take the time to deal with Harrington even if its only for 3/4 of a season if I'm Chicago. He's an empty stats guy if I've ever seen one.

And I'll even make this blatantly Pacers related: the article says Elton Brand and Andre Miller are being shopped. I really wouldn't be surprised if the Pacers tried to make some sort of desperation trade to get in the playoffs for one of them if things keep going south, all speculation on my part of course.

I would very gladly take on Andre Miller's contract as long as TJ goes to Portland as part of the deal.

Well, you can wish in one hand and crap in the other and see which one fills first.

    Bayless/Pryz/Outlaw for Dunleavy/Rush

    Realistic or not?

What about Bayless/Miller/Outlaw for the same package? Stretching it a bit if you ask me but if they really want to dump Miller...

from what we've discussed regarding Bayless (on this board), he seems to have an attitude problem...somethin we dont need on this team...Bird finally got some mature players on this squad

    Al Harrington for Tyrus Thomas?

Why does it feel like everyone is getting value for Al Harrington except us?

The Hawks got a 1st round pick from us (didn't pan out, but they still got one)

I believe the Warriors got Jamaal Crawford, and now the Knicks are possibly getting Tyrus Thomas.

From the way I understand the GSW deal, we essentially got Murph and Diogu?

Murph hasn't been all bad, but I would take Thomas, Crawford, and of course a 1st round pick over Murph any day of the week.

Was Sjax in the first Harrington deal? I guess that was a solid pickup before all craziness, even though I still feel that move was a panic button type of situation with Reggie on his way out, and the Pacers seemed to be scrambling for a SG replacement

The fact that Tyrus is being shopped in spite of his talent tells me everything I need to know.

It's not the most outlandish trade idea I've ever seen, but I'm not sure how realistic it is.

Outlaw is hurt and expected to be out most of the season I think. Not sure Bird would want to do that. We already swapped Rush for Bayless once, so that would basically be an admission of failure by both parties. I'm sure Portland is concerned with Dunleavy's health.

I think if Dunleavy proves he's healthy that he would be someone that Portland would (and should) be interested in. I would think a Dunleavy-to-Portland trade would have to involve Andre Miller as well. Really, it would make sense for both teams to a certain extent. I don't think we want to pay an aging Andre Miller for three years (and it would most certainly **** TJ Ford off somethin' nasty), so I doubt it would happen, but it fills a need for both teams.

I wish we had the pieces to get tyrus. He would be a great pickup for this team. We need a athletic pf and he would fit that role perfectly. He has a ton of upside, I cant believe the bulls are letting him go.

If Thomas had it all together above the shoulders, there's no way the Bulls would even think about trading him.

Didn't the Knicks recently get rid of Jerome James?

Thank you. I read this deal and the first thing through my mind was why would Donnie want to bring another Isiah signee back? They overpaid Jerome James way back when (I believe it was 30 mil over 5 years?) and I say that's just another "speculation" that's wrong.
Can't believe the number of replies that it gets here.

He's a country kid. He needs to go back home to Louisiana. Sending him to one of the few cities that is bigger than Chicago is not goint to work out well for anyone. At least he owns a coat now.

This seems like a desperation move by the Bulls to me.

You think he's struggling to adjust to Chicago? I've seen his attitude problems on the court, and heard the rumors about fathering children, but don't follow the Bulls closely enough to fully know what's going on.

All I know is that most teams wouldn't get rid of a low salary (currently) player that makes the defensive impact on a game that Tyrus does.
