By now many of you have heard that JMV has stepped away from the radio station to devote more time to his family and himself for a indefinite period of time. To say the last 5 years have been memorable would be an understatement. After taking over for Mark Patrick about 5 years ago, John started the DRIVE show with the intent on not just giving you talk on the Colts or Pacers , but on sports of all levels, and of things that he had a deep interest in, whether it be off the court or off the wall. And having been a part of his show directly or indirectly for these last 5 years, I can tell you that his show had no equal when it came to giving you great guests as well as a great voice for what you the listener had on your mind. J
John spared no punches and expected his listeners to do likewise when it came to what was on their minds. His love for sports on all levels showcased his likes for what was comfortable to him as a person who grew up in that environment.
Make no mistake John will be missed, and no matter what he does later down the road, his impact on WNDE and the DRIVE will long be remembered. Thanks for taking WNDE to a different level of sports talk JMV. Best of luck in the future with your family and to you.
On a personal note, I am very saddened by the news. While I am happy for JMV, in that he is doing whathe feels he needs to do, I am selfishly disappointed & will miss what he brought to local sports talk. Local sports lost a true friend today, & it saddens me to think that an outsider or yet another national show may take his spot on the airways.
I hope we can stay in touch w/ him here on PD, as I hope to still see him post from time to time. I will miss the local "on location" broadcasts, FFB drafts, & the occational Fan Forum Hooter lunch. Best of luck JMV!!!
