Default Trade with MEM (loss of Jarrett Jack)

Pacers get: G Mike Conley, G Marko Jaric

Grizzlies get: G T.J. Ford, G Jamaal Tinsley

This will allow us to save cap space for this season and give us a starting PG in Conley and a possible SG or a tall PG in Jaric. Still our PG position is a little weak.

Gives Memphis 2 PGs and some veterans to their lineup.

    I'd do it.

Memphis is a wild-card. They might be stupid enough to do this.

There's really no reason for Memphis to do this unless they somehow like the Pacers' unwanted PGs more than like Mike Conley.

Remember it's Memphis. They help out other teams for no reason at all.

It was more a Gasol for Gasol deal if anything.

At least we're giving them some value.

They somehow liked the Blazers', Knicks', and Clippers' unwanted PF in Zach Randolph more than they liked Pau Gasol.

Memphis is the team in question here, thus anything's possible.

We might be able to get Conley in a deal for Ford, but I don't see any way Memphis takes on all that extra salary for Tinsley. I'd do it because I like Conley, but he hasn't been as good as expected.

I just worry about TJ's injury history, and I think Conley is more of a "team first" player. I loved the way he played at OSU as the leader of that team, but haven't seen much of him in the NBA. Just read mixed reviews about him. Nothing spectacular.

I don't view it that way. Tinsley and Jaric are a wash, salary-wise and value-wise, so the deal comes down to Ford for Conley. Depending on how Memphis feels about replacing Conley with Ford and paying the extra difference, the deal could or could not happen.

we save a lot of money, I would do it. I honestly doubt Memphis would though!

Yes, but Memphis is going to need a lot more incentive to give up the possibility of an occasional Adriana Lima sighting.

I don't see why Memphis would want a more expensive, only slightly better, older PG that's not getting them to the playoffs while also taking on Tinsley. I It makes no sense. I know they've made dumb moves before, so it's possible. But I'd say in general, those moves have been salary dumps. ZBo is an exception. They had a hole at PF though. I'd be happy if they'd give us a prospect like Conley though! From what I've read the coach likes him, but the front office isn't sold on him, so who knows?

It can go that way too, but I just through in Tinsley also so we can get rid of him.
