Who was the guy from IU that was on the Summer League team the past year or two that a lot of people here were pulling for last year?
Earl Calloway - he's joining Simms on the Hornets' summer league team.

He played for the D-League's Mad Ants (with which the Pacers are affiliated) last year and this past season he spent with Cibona in Croatia.

Sims going to the Hornets, to me, signals that Chandler is going to Phoenix for Ben Wallace. I wonder if Ben is agreeing on a buyout with NO right now. Chandler would be awesome next to Amare.

I also think Phoneix would be a terrific fit for Marquis. He would be a great fit next to Barbosa. He could handle the bigger defensive assignment and Barbosa could take the speedier player. They could be a great second unit. I hope Marquis the best and would like to see him in Phoenix, if he is not with us on the cheap.

Is there anybody who has the capability and willingness to record the summer league games and post them on PD?

I'm going to be in Vegas for the rest of the week and won't have internet access. It's a rough life, I know.

I'd be willing to make a small contribution via Paypal to recoup someone for their efforts.

I wish one of the ESPNs were going to carry it, I thought they had before or at least one game. Maybe like the Ocho?

With all of the "what do you expect" threads, what do you expect from Hansbrough in summer league?

I'm hesitant to say really, cuz I know it doesn't translate for bad or good into the real games.

I would not be surprised though with double/doubles, I think it just depends on how many minutes he gets. It think they should have an exceptional team though.

It all depends on how much they're going to play Rush and Hibbert. If they get big minutes, we should crush teams.

Apparently, Obie is coaching the Summer League team this year. Think he's feeling the heat?

Maybe he wants some heat. This past week here in Indiana was AWFUL.

I heard somewhere that Florida gets hot in the summertime.

Players who I find interesting on the other team today for NJ/Phil

    Jeff Adrien
    Dionte Christmas
    Jrue Holiday
    Marreese Speights
    T Will
    CDR

That's a very interesting team. I want to see CDR and T Will guarding BRush. Also, Speights vs. Roy. Hansbrough and Jeff Adrien. And lastly, AJ Price vs. Jrue Holiday and Dionte Christmas. Could be some defense being played for a change.

    Tomorrow we get to see.

    James Harden
    Shaun Livingston??
    BJ Mullens
    Kyle Weaver
    Russell Westbrook
    DJ White
    Robert Vaden

Man, this could be a huge challenge for AJ Price.

As I said on page 2
Right now with JOB overtly saying that a majority of the PT is going toward player development rather than taking a look at some options, and with JOB doing the coaching, this should be unpleasant for the other squads. I mean Price, Rush, Hans, McRoberts and Hibbert getting a lot of the PT. This could get ugly.
Bear in mind that these are 40 minute games with NO FOUL OUTS. So you won't have stats as big as starters in a regular game.

My guess is 28-30 mpg for the main guys, at least in 3 or 4 of the games. Hans in 30? 16-9
I think you see Rush getting 20-24 in a couple games.
I think Price could hit for 7-8 dimes as well.
McRoberts should be in the 8 and 10 range.
    Hibbert for maybe 14-7

I'm thinking some 82-63 types of wins in here.

Of course success means nothing, and some failures don't either. However I will consider it problematic if Hibbert really struggles, Rush is less aggressive, Hans has big foul problems or low rebounds (ditto McBob).

And if Price gets time and doesn't really control the floor I'll be very disappointed/surprised.

Fudge - TWill and Weaver going at Rush. IMO those are 2 of the very best wing defenders going right now. I may have to strongly rethink my expectations for these first 2 days.

I think Price can still have offensive success against Jrue and Westbrook, though both of them are fairly sharp PG defenders.

This may end up looking like professional basketball after all.

I could really not care less about summer league. It's neat to see the new guys. However, it isn't at all indicative of future success.

These are never televised. Go to the link at the top of the page, they will be streamed live there.

I think everyone gets giddy because we get to watch basketball in the summer, and that it's our first chance to see our new players represent our team for the first time in competitive play.

It's better than mostly anything else that is on right now anyway.

If they run a bunch of half court sets to get Hansbrough familiar, I'd guess Price's assist numbers could be down, just the way they run the high post for the bigs.

Be sure to read the schedule on the site. The game doesn't start until this afternoon.

This is the first Summer League opener I'll miss since 2005. How ****ty. This will also be the first Summer League in a couple years without Travis Diener, the all-time single game points leader (34) in Pepsi Pro history.
