    Default A Pacers Throwback night

There should be a night next season when the Pacers wear the '85-'90 uniforms.

    Who's with me on this?

Any kind of throwback jersey would be fine.

They wore the ABA ones for the 40th season.

Yes...they wore those the year of the brawl.

They're hideous...(and I believe they were designed by the daughter of either Donnie Walsh or one of the Simons, IIRC).

Plus, the NBA has rules about what you can wear as an Alternate jersey. I think you can either have a throwback or an alternate...and you can only do it periodically...but I can't find it anywhere.

I believe it has to do with marketing and selling the jerseys.

My guess is that you'll see either the Flo-Jo's or the pinstripes back within the next couple of years.

We've worn those before, I think they're pretty nice.

Once it appears this team is on the cusp of competing again, they can bring back the Flo-Jo's to wear periodically for a season. I hate the pinstripes, maybe with the passage of time I'll feel some sort of nostalgia for them, but still too soon for those.

We should dedicate a night to Reggie and Rik next season by bringing back the pinstripes.

i really like the pinstripes. I bought my white pnstripe JO jersey the offseason just before they switched to the new ones. at this time i was a bit upset i did not wait a bit longer to get the new ones but in the end they re my favorite from both and i really like to wear them. Flo Jos are cool of course but i also like the ones they wore 2 seasons ago, IIRC it s the ABA jersey, very classical but dope

You can have alternates and throwbacks in the same season. We have in the past, and I know the Cavaliers did last season.

The last throwback night I went do was against Denver in MSA in what I believe was 1994. The played disco music and some of the players warmed up in fake afros. I also think we lost by about 30.

Yes, we wore those uniforms during the 2004-2005 (Brawl) season. I really liked them, and bought a Reggie one last season.

I am a big proponent of the HOME Flo-Jo's. I would like to see those. It's been too soon since we have had the pinstripes to wear them in a Hardwood Classics night.

1967 uniforms. Calling them the "ABA ones" is a little vague, since there were at least 2-3 iterations before we made our way into the NBA.

They were also worn during the preseason game last year in the Coliseum.

The Flo-Jo jersey is my favorite and I would love to see them bring it back. What I would do for a Reggie Flo Jo jersey.

'96. It was part of the "NBA at 50" stuff.

Man... Larry and Donnie were PISSED off at Reggie, Dale and Workman after that stunt.
Why do the things that we treasure most, slip away in time
Till to the music we grow deaf, to God's beauty blind
Why do the things that connect us slowly pull us apart?
Till we fall away in our own darkness, a stranger to our own hearts
And life itself, rushing over me
Life itself, the wind in black elms,
Life itself in your heart and in your eyes, I can't make it without you

It was actually March 31, 1995, 2 years before the 96-97 NBA at 50 celebration. I only know this because Reggie goes over it in his book, "I Love Being The Enemy", which is a chronicle of the 94-95 season. He talks about going to the beauty parlor with Haywoode to pick up the wigs.

Let's make sure we're good before we bring back the Flo-Jos. Don't want to disgrace them.

We had a couple of not-so-great years in them. I'm not sure if I would give them the "holy threads" title.

Oh, I know, but those were the jerseys when we began to get GOOD!!! Those had a LOT of the legendary moments, more than the pinstripes IMO, even though the pinstripes have a better record. The Knicks battles, Bulls, Magic etc etc. Good times...With a good draft maybe we're back there soon.
