    Default Draft Overload?

Is there anyway to prepare for an overload of people/traffic during the draft so that the board doesn't crash?

My suggestion would be to temporarily force people to log in, so no lurking guests that night. I seem to recall Hicks doing something similar when he wanted to see how many active members there were.

I suppose I could do that for draft night, if needed. I'll be at the draft party at Conseco, but I'll have my iPhone with me so I can do that if needed.

Was there a problem last year? Why would there be a greater problem this year?

I wasn't online last year (again, at Conseco), but I know in earlier drafts the site would go down.

I think locking it up to members only is an ok idea if the alternative is crashing. I like that we're the unofficial spokespeople of Pacers fans everywhere so I don't like the idea of limiting our board to outside views.

That doesn't really limit the board to outside views. In fact, if anything it would give any would be lurkers a valid reason to create an account and participate.

IIRC, there was a slight crash after Bayless was traded.

Suspend creating accounts during the draft, too. Can that be done? I really don't want this board to crash on draft night.
