Default CIB kicked to the curb?

    What took so long?

Is this new board going to pick up the Pacers $15 Million lease?

    .

Doesn't say anything about the relationship with PS&E. Would this new Facilities Management Board take over management of Conseco?

Insisting the Capital Improvement Board has overspent in an "embarrassing" way, Gov. Mitch Daniels, along with Mayor Greg Ballard, unveiled a proposal Thursday to kill the sports board, make massive cuts but still raise taxes.
I'd like more specifics about the overspending.

And maybe hold some people accountable.

Here's today's Star article about it:

    CIB rescue plan cuts $27M

Proposal doesn't detail where most of the trims would be made

and it still says nothing about the Pacers but that the new Facilities Management Board would "oversee" Conseco Fieldhouse and 12 other facilities, and that the plan doesn't require either the Pacers or Colts to pay more.

I believe the $27 Mil is cut when they dissolve the CIB because it eliminates their operating costs.

What is the CIB spending 27 million dollars on that would go away by getting rid of them?

BTW, any plan that doesn't keep the Pacers paying at least some of the operating costs of Conseco is a bum deal. The Pacers are just as much, if not more, to blame for their poor financial situation as the city is. There's no reason the city should just gift 15 million a year to them.
