Default Possible Draft Day Trade Scenario

This scenario assumes two things that are mildly likely.

    1. Minnesota does not pick a PG with #6.
    2. A PG (Jennings, Flynn, etc.) that Minnesota wants slips to us.

    We trade #13 & #52

    We get #18, #28, #45.

It's pretty well known that we'd like another draft pick. I could see us doing this and then picking guys like T-Will or Sam Young and Jeff Pendergraph or Gani Lawal. That would give us a pretty nice draft. We'd also move up 7 spots in the 2nd round, where we just might snag someone who's worth a roster slot.

This deal only works if the player who Minnesota believes will put them in the playoffs next year is available @ 13. Mc hale is no longer in charge. The 18th and 28th pick could add depth to your roster but you are not going to land an immediate game changer with those picks.

    1. There are only about 10 players in the world good enough to make Minnesota a playoff team next year, and their all currently playing for other NBA teams.

    2. I don't understand the rest of your post.

Mchale is no longer the GM of Minnesota.

They have the ingredients (6 draft picks expiring contracts) to acquire another star to go with Al Jefferson.

True on Jonathan's point but if they're happy with the guy they get at #6. Further, if that's a big, then I have thought like Mel that a trade up to #13 to get a long-needed PG would be very feasible.

Also think a trade up to #5 might be doable, but don't know that we have what Washington wants as I have not a clue as to what they would want. Cap relief? A backup PG? The #13 pick?

Minnesota is going to make a another draft day move for sure. I do not see it being with the Pacers. If a "special" player drops to 13; I really could see the Pacers trading back and getting a rotational player/expiring contract along with draft picks.

I definitely like picking up another draft pick and we probably get a comparable player at 18 that we can get at 13, unless someone drops that we don't expect to ala Danny.
