Default Randolph for Tinsley & Mike D.

Would the Clips do this they move a big contract for 2 smaller ones with guys that can help balance their rotations with Blake Griffion on the way.
And they would know better than anyone wher Mike is on his rehab and how bad he is. Tinsley I think will do pretty well when he gets a chance with a new team. Randolph would help our PF problems and we could help our wing issues in the draft or through FA

I might have my Pacer goggles on though.

I would never want Randolph on the Pacers. Our main problem is defensive and getting Zach doesn't address that problem at all

I wouldn't mind getting Camby in return as a serviceable expirer but not Zach

I'm just trying to be realistic Tinsley hasn't played in a year and Dunleavy has been hurt for a year. I don't expect we could get to much for damaged goods....Clippers would probably say no anyway

Too much off-court stuff, and too much volatility with him. Talent wise, he'd be just what the doctor ordered. But the peripheral stuff outweighs his talent value.

I think looking at this, all of the players would be happy in some capacity:

    A. Dunleavy gets to play for his Dad, which may be a blessing and a curse
    B. Tinsley gets to finally leave town and gets the big city he enjoys in LA
    C. Randolph gets to come back to Indy where he lives in the off-season

As far as whether or not Bird or Dunleavy would do the deal, I think it's a toss up. The Pacers definitely need help at the 4 with just Murphy. Zach is at the age now where he should be entering his prime and is younger than both Dunleavy and Tinsley. The issues I see are:

-- Would there be too many distractions for Zach playing close to home and friends and family? It's not just a Zach thing, but I think that for a lot of players, playing for their hometown team can be too overwhelming at times.
-- How would he mesh with the other players?

Talent wise I would love the trade. The big thing for me would be whether Randolph could keep his off court issues in check. It is not always a good idea to be close to all of your hometown buddies. The best part is seeing the Tin Man packing his crap and leaving town for good.

The Clippers would absolutely do this deal.

Larry Bird would not consider this. In fact, he might laugh at it.

It would be a toss-up for me as to whom I'd rather see in a Pacers uniform next season, Tinsley or Randolph - and I really don't like Tinsley.

Zach is good at scoring the ball down low but makes too much money and has a bad attitude. I do give him credit for complaining about only getting $75 per diem for food from the league.

And he has no sense of defence which is our main problem. We have no issue with scoring we need dee

Trading one team killer (tinsley) for another (Randolph) is not a good idea.

With all the big men the Clips are going to have, I think a healthy Kaman can get a healthy Dunleavy. Considering that Dunleavy Sr is the coach and GM

He chucks up too many 3's thinking he can get them in.

I really never liked the guy.

    A few things to note:

-- I think all of the players would welcome this deal. Although I know Dunleavy likes living in Indy, I'm sure he would love the chance to play for his Dad and be near his brother (who currently plays for USC). Tinsley wants the big city and would like the warmer climate and big lights of LA. Randolph, on the other hand, would likely welcome a deal back home to Indiana. He owns a house and lives in the Indy area during the summer.

-- As far as the stigma of Zach, I think he's starting to turn the corner as far as being a bad seed. When I ran into him a few weeks ago, he didn't come across as a thug or a bad guy whatsoever. He mentioned he would be living in Indy all summer and working out. He was super friendly, talked some NBA with me for a few minutes and was just a down to earth guy. Plus, a guy I work with mentioned to me that his son was attending a basketball camp this week in Indy and Zach came in and spoke to the kids for several hours on being a professional on and off the court and to learn from his mistakes. I have a feeling we're seeing a more mature Zach Randolph who may surprise a lot of people this year.

If the Clippers came to the Pacers and said we'll give you Zach, 2nd rd pick and Mardy Collins for Dunleavy and Jamaal and maybe a 2nd rounder as well, I think the Pacers have to take a long hard look at the deal. Zach would have to be on his best behavior, but I think he could thrive in Indy's offense. He'd have to start playing some d, though. Would Bird pull the trigger? I don't know. Plus, he's performed well when playing in Indianapolis and may feel more comfortable being closer to family.

Zach's numbers while playing against Indy at Conseco:

    2007-2008:

    7-18, 21 points, 14 rebounds
    9-22, 23 points, 15 rebounds

Total for 2 games: 16-40, average of 22 ppg, 14.5 rebounds

    2008-2009: 13-25, 34 points, 16 rebounds

Total for last 3 games: 29-65, average of 26ppg, 15 rebounds per game

Pacers could have a lineup of:

    Jack, Ford, Diener
Rush, Collins, 2nd rd Draft Pick
    Granger, Draft pick, Graham
    Randolph, Foster, McRoberts
    Murphy, Roy, F/A

    Clippers could have a lineup:

Davis (if not moved), Tinsley, Taylor
    Gordon, Ricky Davis, Fred Jones
    Thornton, Dunleavy
    Griffin, Jordan
    Kaman, Camby

You'd have to think of Roy starting at C and Murph coming off the bench, wouldn't you?
