Default A few questions for you about Michael Vick

Ok, I'm sure just about everyone has heard about Michael Vick being released from prison and finishing out the last 2 months of his sentence on house arrest in Virginia. So here are my questions for you all:

1.Do you think he deserves another chance to play football?

2.Will it be in the NFL?

    3.Who will he play for?

    4.What position will he play?

5.Will he be the same player?

    1. Sure, he didn't do anything detrimental to the game. Just himself/
    2. Yes.
    3. San Francisco, Oakland, Miami
    4. Backup QB
    5. He will be used for a Wildcat offense

    1 - Yeah.

    2 - Yeah.

3 - East coast team. NY media would be too brutal on him, as would New England's. Carolina ?? A Florida team ?? Buffalo ?? They're taking a shot with TO, why not ??

4 - H-back. Returner. A few looks at QB in some wildcat type set.

    5 - Probably not.

    1. I thought about this a lot and found that answer that I like most.
If the point of jail is to rehabilitate or change inmates for the better then only time will tell. If Vick hasn't changed his behavior then it will just manifest itself in some other way like bringing pot to the airport for example. If he has then he will be hopefully free from breaking the law in a signficant way. So basically time will tell if Vick deserves another shot or not.

    2. Where else would it be?

    3. Just because no one said it...Dallas
Oakland would be a strong possibility.

    4. Any position that will prove himself again.

    5. He will be rusty but in 2 years I can see him back to his old form.
    Good but not great.

1.Do you think he deserves another chance to play football?
Yes, after some seriously sincere apologies are given, remorse is shown, and he publicly asks for another chance.

2.Will it be in the NFL?
Not likely, at first. I'm thinking the new UFL is a good fit:
    http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/story/11768397

    info on the UFL: http://www.reuters.com/article/press...009+BW20090209

    3.Who will he play for?
After knocking the rust off, if he stays out of trouble I can see him returning to the NFL in 2-3 years as a Raider

    4.What position will he play?
QB in the UFL, QB/WR/RB in the NFL, mostly as a backup

5.Will he be the same player?
He will be able to run well for a few more years. He never could throw accurately, so I don't expect that ability to suddenly emerge.

    1. If Leonard Little is still lining up on every snap after he killed a person (a human I mind you) drunk driving, then I think Vick deserves a second chance.

    2. Yea, where else the Toronto Argonauts or wherever they're at. lol

    3. Hell If I know.

    4. QB or WR.

    5. Hopefully while he was in the pen he was keeping his arm strength up while making license plates and staying in shape. If thats they case then he should be close to being the same player. He's still farily young

1.Do you think he deserves another chance to play football?
    Yes.

2.Will it be in the NFL?
Yes, I don't see him playing in the UFL or any other league aside from the NFL. I suspect that once he is reinstated, he can expect an 8 game to 1 year ban from playing.

    3.Who will he play for?
This is a crapshoot. It depends on who is desperate enough or has a strong enough locker room to take Mike Vick in.

    4.What position will he play?
It depends entirely on the team he goes to. My best guess is that he will start out playing situational QB and eventually emerge as a full time starting QB again.

5.Will he be the same player?
He should be. He will still be as quick and fast as he was for at least 3-4 more years.

1.Do you think he deserves another chance to play football?

Vick is a scumbag but the NFL has never been a league of moralist Rhodes Scholars. He's basically paid his debt to society. So yes, even though he is a moron.

2.Will it be in the NFL?

Depends on what your definition of being in the NFL is. Will a team give him a chance, well of course, but I don't know if he will be good enough to make an opening day roster. Football is this man's only skill though, so he'll play for someone somewhere in some league.

    3.Who will he play for?

If he plays in the NFL, I can see him going to the Raiders because they'll take anyone. Maybe he will be used as insurance for the Patriots, since they seem to be able to absorb a few volatile personalities and be alright, but I don't know if he is worth their trouble. I could see Jerry Jones give him a chance with the Cowboys but keep him on a short leash. Possibly the Jets or the Bills would be willing to roll the dice. Those are the only teams I could see willing to take any chances right now.

    4.What position will he play?

Probably backup QB, with a chance that he could sometime be a decent starter in the league again.

5.Will he be the same player?

It's possible, I would give him about a 50/50 shot.

    1) I believe most people deserve a second chance, so yes.
    2) Yeah. Someone will take a chance on him.
    3) New England, just to annoy me.
    4) RB, WR, and back-up QB.
    5) It may take a little time to shake the rust off, but he'll end up being close.

    1. He didn't cheat the game, so, yeah he should get another shot at the game.

    2. He'll be back in the NFL.

    3. Indy*, Oakland, Miami, Minnesota, KC, Houston, Washington

    4. Kick-returner

    5. I highly doubt he's the same player he was before.

He may not have "cheated" the game in a literal sense but he cheated the Atlanta fans and most certainly the owner.

I just can't see a team taking on this kind of baggage. It would be totally disruptive.

    1. Yes, but if he doesn't perform they should take him out back and strangle him untiul he breathes no more.
    2. Yes, there will be a team desperate enough to sign him, probably AL Davis.
    3. Probably Oakland but there will be other teams crazy enough.
    4. He will probably be a KR/WR or back-up QB where he gets 5-10 plays a game in the Wildcat scheme.
    5. Heck no. He will be a step slower and his timing will absolutely suck the first half of the year.

All that talent wasted on doing the stupid things he has done in his life. No one can cheat father time.

1.Do you think he deserves another chance to play football?

No. Playing pro sports is a privilege and not a right. I don't buy him being sorry. He is a grown man and he knew what he was doing was wrong.

2.Will it be in the NFL?

I have a feeling the NFL lets him back, although I think it's wrong, but if they don't I am sure some league will.

    3.Who will he play for?

If it is the NFL I don't know. Oakland comes to mind. Possibly Dallas because they like to make headlines.

    4.What position will he play?

It would depend on the team of course. My guess is kick returner though but I am sure there is at least one team willing to give him a shot at quarterback.

5.Will he be the same player?

    No.

1.Do you think he deserves another chance to play football?
Yes. He's been through rehabilitation IMO.
2.Will it be in the NFL?
    Yes.
    3.Who will he play for?
Tough to say. Not Atlanta. He'd be a good fit for any team willing to be creative offensively. Probably not one with an established QB.
    4.What position will he play?
    Backup QB/RB/option guy.
5.Will he be the same player?
Yes and no. I think he'll be really useful for a team willing to use him in different ways - he's incredibly dangerous with the ball in his hands.

Vick should sign with Cleveland, it would be a match made in heaven. Just imagine him going to celebrate a TD with the "Dawg Pound". That would never get old.
