    Default Kaman Might be Available?

The centerpiece it does involve, I'm informed, is Chris Kaman. Now that Marcus Camby (double-figure rebounding last two games) is nearing full strength, the 1-6 Clippers are open to a rational market trade for the big guy who has battened down their middle for five seasons and is owed $43 million over four seasons.
    http://www.nypost.com/seven/11112008...157.htm?page=0

I doubt that we make muscle up a trade that wouldnt involve Granger or Dunleavy, but I would love Kaman here. Good passer, and has some nice post moves. I think a future of Kaman and Hibbert as our big men would be nice

I'd definately do Dunleavy for Kaman. Give us a player for a position we're pretty weak at http://games.espn.go.com/nba/feature...2~11&te=&cash=

"So, which one of you guys is going to come in second?" - Larry Bird before the 3 point contest. He won.

I would trade Dunleavy, and I like the guy and his game, in a heartbeat for Kaman btw. Like Speed wrote I too am quite surprised Kaman is made available. Anyway, doubt we have what would interest the Clippers, except Granger and they aren't getting him.

Murphy and Dunleavy for Kaman? Or Dunleavy and Nesterovic? He is probably gone next year
    anyway.

I'm a big Kamen fan. It would be a crazy advantage with him and Roy for the next 4 seasons. You could absolutely punish teams down low. I'm really surprised he's available.

I'm sure that the Clips are one team that would really like to have MD Jr. seeing that MD Sr. is the coach. I don't think we should trade Mike at all but this would be a very even trade and a plus.

The Caveman can ball and is pretty tough around the basket. We'd probably have to send them one of our bigs like Baston or McRoberts in return but that would be a pretty good, but not great, trade.

It's not about Dunleavy. It's about starting new threads. Dun is an unintentional casualty.
Welcome to Pacers Digest! New around here? Here are three tips for making the forum a great place to talk about Pacers basketball.

    • Log in. Even if you want to read instead of post, it's helpful because it lets you:
    • Change your signature options. You can hide all signatures by choosing "Settings" (top right) then "General Settings" (middle left) and unchecking the box "Show Signatures" (in the "Thread Display Options" area).
    • Create an ignore list. I know it may seem unneighborly. But you're here to talk about the Pacers, not argue with someone who's just looking for an argument. Most of the regular users on here make use (at least occasionally) of the "Ignore" feature. Just go to "Settings" -> "Edit Ignore List" and add the names.

    Enjoy your time at PD!

The first question you have to ask is, would Kamen help the Pacers and is he healthy.
If the answer is yes to both then you take a look at it.

Can you somehow fit Tinsley in a deal.

I'm not mad at him for this one. I think a new thread is okay because one, there's a new article about Kaman being available and two, I think the Clips could be one team in the NBA that really would be interested in have Mike on their roster.

Geez, all these player X is available threads...can't they be moved into one thread? Didn't we have a trade rumors thread last year? That was good stuff (to ignore).

Couldn't it go in the trade proposal thread? I mean there is a little bit about the player being available, then it turns into a trade proposal.
I guess. It really doesn't bother me as is but I think the trade proposal thread should be just for fictional/hypothetical trade scenarios. If there's an article regarding a player that's on the block I think that's newsworthy and open for discussion. If you don't want to discuss it you can just read the article and be on your way.

I also think it shouldn't devolve into multiple trade scenarios including trade checkers and crap like that.

This is hypothetical. Most of this is just speculation. The Bobcats are looking for someone to compliment Emeka Okafor, and Vecsey says that Chris Kaman would be the man because Camby is nearing full strength. There is no source or reason why he said that they are shopping Kaman, Vecsey just said it's possible.

Also, these "MillerTime Moments" turn into trading scenarios 100% of the time. That's all fine and dandy, but there is a special section for it. It gets old. I don't mind to read who "is on the block", or "worn out their tenure", but when they turn into trade x for y or xy for z, it can get old. There is a separate forum for that, for this particular reason.

By the way, I am still totally against trading Dunleavy.

Thank you. If there a article about player available, whats wrong with posting it in the general forum?

If you guys dont think we should do Kaman for Dunleavy, I dont know what else to say...

To trade Dunleavy for Kaman is very possible considering that Dunleavy Jr's father wants to coach his son. To pass up on a future of:

    Ford
    Rush
    Granger
    Kaman
    Hibbert

You have to be nuts to say you would want that. Theyre all young and grow together

With that front line we would consistently get destroyed by the KGs and Amares of the league..

what is this guy goign to give us that murphy isnt? maybe 4 to 5 points more and we lose our starting shooting guard that will score 19 a game and help our team run better?

I'm for trading Murphy and fillers for him but that is about it. The trade does not make us a contender and actually makes our SG postilion thin.

I'm happy with the roster as it is now and though I'm not a big fan of Murph at all I'm not even sure I'd trade him for Kaman...

As for this speculation. I agree the initial article is dumbfounding. I can't believe they would trade a legit center who is only 25, they drafted with the 6th pick in 2003, is relatively cheap, plays well on both ends of the floor, and is the foundation of their future front court over an older player with no scoring ability like Camby. MAKES NO SENSE. But this is the Clippers we are talking about.

I would want to make a trade for Kaman in a heart beat. He is 25 just like Granger and Ford. He would push Hibbert to get better, especially with a veteran like Foster around to help teach them. You could play both of them at the same time most games and wouldn't get killed when one gets in foul trouble. We would not get dominated in the front court, as you will see ALOT this season. I think you make that TRADE PROPOSAL if offered. And I really love the way Dun plays the game. It has more to do with a SF at the apex of his career versus a younger center. Plus the kid grew up in Michigan and I have heard on many occasions the kid is lost living in LA. He would enjoy being back in the midwest. As would I.
