Default 2009 NBA playoffs: (4) Atlanta vs (5) Miami

First playoff matchup officially locked up, and IMO the most entertaining.

My money is on Atlanta over a 7-game series, because they are clearly more talented, but it should be a lot of fun to see how much damage Wade can do.

It wasn't about being the team everyone loved, it was about beating the teams everyone else loved.

I say Heat in 6. Although the Hawks are more talented, I feel that WAde will make his presence known.

The question to me is this: Can the Hawks win decisively four times out of seven? Meaning can they win four games that aren't close. Because if they can't, one team has Dwyane Wade, and one team doesn't have a guy like Dwyane Wade on it.

If they can, of course, they'll be fine.

Who thinks they can/cannot? Why/why not?

I think the Hawks and Joe Johnson will be just fine. Even though Wade is Wade.... I think the home court paired with Atlanta being a little deeper and Joe compare favorably for the Hawks.

    Hawks in 6.

I'm really looking forward to this matchup because it features two really good backcourts in Chalmers/Wade and Bibby/Johnson. Even though the Heat have the best player in the series, I don't think they have enough help to beat the Hawks. Horford is too much for JO/Magloire and I doubt if Haslem can contain J Smith.

Unless we see Wade get to the line 25 times a game, I'm taking Hawks in 5.

This is probably the only match up I can't make up my mind on. Both teams have explosive scorers in Johnson and Wade. I'm guessing the Hawks will triumph, but I'm hoping for Heat.

Atlanta has better depth and overall better talent, remember they took the Celtics to 7 games, Atlanta in 6

wade single handedly won the heat a title, so i have no doubt he can't pull out another mini-miracle. the hawks are the better team, but the heat have the best player. i'll say hawks in 6 unless wade goes on to average 40+ppg. at that point, i'd take miami.

I think this should be a really good series. Evenly matched teams. But neither is that good on the road - so I'm going with the Hawks in 7 - homes teams might very well win every game. But if I am a Hawks fan I'd be worried that Wade might go off in Atlanta and the Heat likely could win that game.

Yeah this should be the best first round eastern conference series.

The Magic are ripe for an upset - but the Sixers aren't the team to do it

Atlanta is the better team. As long as the officials don't give DWade too much love, Hawks in 5.

Seriously, after what they did against Boston last year, I'd certainly like to think that Atlanta will win this, but I'm a little scared of the matchup. History says Miami's in trouble with a rookie point, but it's certainly possible Wade will go off.

I see the Hawks taking this one in 6, even though the Heat are my adopted playoff team this year. My boy Wade will torch them, but overall, the Hawks are just more talented and an overall better team. JO's gonna have to turn back the clock in order for the Heat to have a chance.

This is the same Hawks team that I believe gave the Celtics the best series last year. I think they will go 4-1 against the heat.

Without Josh Childress they probably lose to the celtics in 5 games last year. Nobody remembers that.

JO will be eaten alive defensively (and maybe offensively) by Al Horford.

Heat in six, I hate to be a conspiracy theorist, but I think Stern would love a Wade/Bron matchup in the second round. I could see Wade playing to the refs quite well, and going to the line easily ten or eleven times a game. Heat in six.

    The Sixers appear to disagree.

I do think Miami-Atlanta is an exciting match and I am watching the game right now. It might sound silly but I had totally forgot that JO plays for Miami, lol.

Did Wade wink at the camera after that obvious flop in the first quarter? Anyone else catch that?
