    Default Pacers/Rockets Deal

    Pacers get:
    Shane Battier

    Rockets get:
    T.J. Ford

    Reasons for it:
I really like this deal. It's full of good value for both teams.

Houston would start T.J. at PG with Brooks backing him up

We would have a back up SF in Battier for Danny and he's also a good defender I think.

This would mean we'd probably draft a PG.

I would throw someone else in, like Foster, to try to get Landry too
"So, which one of you guys is going to come in second?" - Larry Bird before the 3 point contest. He won.

    Wow...this grossly undervalues Battier.

If Houston wants more we can give them a future second round draft pick.

Battier is absolutely crucial to what Houston does. The impact Ford would give them isn't that much better compared to their platoon of PGs right now, and the loss of Batier would be a huge blow to them.

A 2nd rounder does nothing for them.

And now it grossly overvalue 2nd round picks.

The last time Battier was traded, it was for the 8th pick in the draft (Rudy Gay) and Stromile Swift. I doubt his value has declined. There isn't a player (or combination of assets) not named Danny Granger that could get Houston to trade us Battier.

And 2nd Round picks...when considering their value as sweetener in a trade, you should think of it as being equivalent to a buy-one-get-one free coupon. That is to say, there's no real negotiable value, at all.

Alright this was just a suggestion. I'll look into something else. Maybe take out Lowry.
