    Default Kareem Rush?

If we were to sign former Pacer Kareem Rush to replace injured Dun and to backup younger brother Brandon Rush at SG how would you feel about that?

He didn't have much success in Philadelphia this season, but was a 3 point threat for us when he was here.

I'd rather take my chances with someone else... Pass. I think we can do better.

We need defense. We already have plenty of three-point shooters.

Depends on whether or not we re-sign Jack, and how much would be left to spend after we do.

There's not too many other free agents to appealing to us besides Jack.

Last year it was more of the trades.

I know. I'm hoping we can maybe buy a couple cheap second-rounders or something to fill in the holes that will likely be left with the departure of Rasho, Baston, Graham, and maybe Diener. I think we'll re-sign McBob, and of course Jack, if the price is right.

In a couple of seasons, we will have a LOT more flexibility under the cap.

Kareem wasn't re-signed because he just wasn't good enough to really be an effective 2nd tier player. I see us doing everything to get rid of Tinsleys contract and bring back at least one decent player. With a good pick our lineup should be easy to fill out. While this draft is not deep, it does have a lot of players who could be good role players.

Brandon Bass, Trevor Ariza, or Jason Maxiell (restricted FA) would be good defensive choices. Drew Gooden might be another logical choice.

Larry is not coming back, he didn't have a meeting with Orlando for not reason, yeah he is coming back to the NBA but not to the Pacers, the notion that he is a taking a year off and then come back is absurd.

I agree with that, and I like Graham.

I still think we can do better than either, though. I'd like to take a shot at some youngsters who haven't played much yet and see what they've got.

I think Graham and Rush are a wash at best, really. Neither is going to make us better next year, and neither is likely to make us worse if they're around.

Odds are we're probably better off finding the best blue-collar, defensive-minded guy we can to add to our current mentality of working hard, and hopefully he can help instill a greater sense of pride as a team in playing well on the defensive end.

........ then many will ***** that he can't shoot or doesn't score enough ........

I like Drew Gooden's defense. He would be a good backup.

I'd take him. I like the story of two brothers playing on one team. They can run ads about Kareem leaving Brandon at a baseball game, and Brandon having to hitchhike home, and then Kareem blaming Brandon for drawing on the wall, which does happen in that order in my ugh... fantasy.

Kareem wouldn't be my first pick at a free agent. He was one of the first names I thought of. It would be fun to see the Rush brothers both on the Pacers.

    Actually, yea me too.

K-rush was an ok defender and a good spot up three point shooter, and woulden't cost much. We are gonna need wing depth unless we draft or trade for it. I would take a "solid" vet over a guy with big holes in his game like Graham.

Sounds like you need a new "fantasy."

If we can't draft a GF that can defend ( T-Will ), if we had to get a GF perimeter....I would throw whatever $$$ we have left to Quinton Ross or Ime Udoka.

Hasnt Maxiell been signed by the Pistons for a few years now, at a contract similar to Fosters?? http://www.shamsports.com/content/pa...es/pistons.jsp

Aaron Gray would be great. He gets no time Chicago because of Noah, Thomas, and Brad Miller. He would be a nice addition in our front court

I wouldnt consider Leon Powe a wing player, hes a big. I think he'll find a contract elsewhere which would be more than hes actually worth.

Chris Anderson is also nice but has too many character issues. I would love him on the team, but I doubt Bird would get him and try to ruin the chemistry that we have

Pops would be a great addition. Once again, hes not a wing player, hes a big man.

Good call on Aaron Gray. I haven't seen him a lot, but he's a big guy who plays like it, and before the trade was in the rotation for Chicago, wasn't he? Sounds like he'd be a solid backup bigman to have.

I would love to get Ramon Sessions ..... but I don't see how we afford it without a sign and trade. I'd almost be willing to do a sign and trade with Tins, and our 1st for him. I just like his game that much. Don't know how willing Milwaukee would be.

Then we could ship out Ford for 2 lesser players to fill out the roster without spending more cash than we already have on the roster, and resign Jack.

    Hmph. I can dig it.

He played quite a bit last season. This season he hasnt gotten much mins, before or after the trade. He did start in 18 games this season, but hasnt made much noise. I wouldnt see him as a starter on the Pacers, but he would be nice coming off the bench
