Wow - you bigs guys sure can drop the El Bees in a hurry! Thank goodness this is a percentage contest.

I'll be working my butt off and hope to lose maybe 10 in 3 months.

The only thing I did this week was watch my portion size. This week I'm cutting out all soda and starting back on the treadmill.

It's hard for me to get a good weight, with the boot on and all.

    193

Yes, that's 3 pounds up. I suspect it might go up next week, too, since I am pretty limited in what I can do. Hopefully some of that was fluids from the surgery.

My 190 is was the day I got back from a 7 day cruise, so that was high to begin with. I already feel like I was cheating using that. But I really wasn't much heavier than that before I went. 188, maybe. I thought only gaining 2 pounds was a pretty good accomplishment, especially considering my bar bill.

I was 189 by Thursday when I weighed in before my surgery.

I weighed 198 Sunday night - that was with the boot, which I subtracted 5 pounds for. But I suspect I was still a little bloated from the surgery.

If I had to guess, I'll drop down to 186 pretty quick, then drift down to 184.

That will be 'the wall' that I have to work my butt to get through and down to 179, which is my goal.

I'm still looking at another 3-4 weeks before I can really think about hitting the gym, though. And that will initially just be weights. Realistically I dont think I'll be able to do much aerobic stuff until June. If I can manage to make it through that without gaining, that will be a 'win' in my book.

I've considerably have changed my diet this week...

    breakfast - protein shake
lunch - meal replacement bar which contains 30g of protein
    dinner - stirfry beef/chicken

have cut out all the desserts and chocolates and snacks along the way...sticking with water and at most one glass of orange juice...

i already feel better and its been just 2 days...

    189.1

Down .9 from my original weight but 3.9 from last week.

I hope to start lifting in a week or so. The foot feels pretty good - a little tender still. Drove for the first time yesterday. (good) Then had to walk 150 yards to the lacrosse field to watch the game (bad). And back. (worse) I

Well I've prolly already blown this competition but.... I met with a personal trainer today (free with membership) He is already working wonders with Geezer Jr (who wants to buff out) so we shall see what he can do for me. 1st off.....30 min a day on recombinant bike with or without resistance, he doesn't care...just make dern sure it is for 30 min 3-5 times a week. Immediate goal is to get rid of that ugly roll that hangs into the groin (envision that if ya have the guts to do so)

It's not too late! I'm pretty sure when Erik won, he was a late entrant (correct me if I'm wrong).

    This looks fun.

Weighed myself this morning, right at 160 even. I'm fairly skinny, I'm 6'1'' or so, but I've noticed the old gut is starting to seep over my pants a little bit more when I sit down now. A far cry from my abs of steel in high school.

I don't eat particularly healthy. Going to cut pork out completely and limit the beef to a few servings a month. I already rarely drink soda. I have stints where I am into chocolate but I am trying to cut that out completely in the near future. Pizza is probably my biggest vice, I have to keep that to a serving a week at the very most, a serving every 10 days or so would be much better. Usually don't eat ice cream, stick to sorbet.

I live in a very walkable and runable neighborhood so that helps. Walked 1.5 miles last night and about a mile this morning. Going to get a turkey sub and some iced tea from Subway for lunch today.

    welcome DC!

you're 6'1 - 160? I'm 6'2 and the lowest i've been was 185 and then i still felt like i had to lose some weight...but i hope i don't have to drop all the way down to 160 to look proper...i got a small body frame so my arms and legs are relatively thin - its the middle body that consumes all the weight that makes it hard....

this time i'm hoping to stick out with everything for the long haul...right now i can't even move properly from all the DOMS effect after tuesday's workout...but once the initial pain from the restarting the gym sessions clears i hope to make it out alright

I've been doing 30 minutes of cardio every day this week, along with situps and crunches until I can't stand it anymore. It hurts. But I weighed myself unofficially and if it holds until Monday you guys won't believe it.

Keep in mind that I've been running off and on on my life and I ran both track and cross country in high school. I just have a natural runner's physique and thus I have always been thin. I have really long but thin arms and legs which made me a pretty good high school basketball player, too. People used to jokingly call me the white Manute Bol.

I weight less than most of my friends who are about your height and weight and they look in shape and go to the gym and all that.

I don't even want to lose that much weight. I think I could even maintain my current weight and be more trim in my midsection, which is where all of my fat is as well.
