Thread: How do you deal with an upset stomach?

Default How do you deal with an upset stomach?

I think I have the flu in that I can't hold anything down since early this morning. I've rested and drink plenty of fluids but how long will that work?

I usually don't get sick so this is kind of odd to me.

    Thanks for any input.

I had stomach issues along with bodyaches last weekend. It felt like the flu but with no congestion, coughing, etc. It was just a 24 thing.

    Drink heavily.

No, not alcohol, but water, juices ............ anything you can. If you notice you're sprouting a curly tail, go to your doctor.

Seriously - just drink all you can. 'Not holding anything down' dehydrates one pretty quickly. Drink, sleep, repeat. Give it a day or 2. You'll be fine. If it's still that bad after a few days, seek better advice than you'll get here.

As insane as it sounds, I drink Pepsi when my stomach is upset. Often times it works.

don't drink orange juice, its too acidic, and will just upset ur stomach more. Water and Apple Juice are the best, 8 oz of whatever every hour that ur awake

    Water water water.

Nothing is worse than being sick with nothing in your stomach. *shivers*

water till you can finally hold something in...and when you can hold it in...toast a slice of bread to calm down the stomach...later on you can go for yogurt and boiled potato...that is what my doctor had prescribed me when i had food poisoning and i couldn't hold anything in.

I wish I read this before I had orange juice w/breakfast this morning and then subsequently threw up afterwards. But before that I seemed to be able to hold down the soup I ate last night.

    Along with Gingerale.

    *Shhhh...don't say anything*

Baksetball Fan, the best thing to eat is Mexican food. Lots and lots of it. The cheese has a calming effect on the stomach and the peppers have a chemical reaction that kills the "my tummy hurts" germ.

Hey! What're you kicking me for? You want me to ask? All right, I'll ask! Ma'am, where do the high school girls hang out in this town?

Few things on the message boards have ever made me happier than two poop-related threads being at the top of the Off-Topic board.

Sprite is good. Call me suck from my childhood, but when I'm sick nothing refreshes me quite like lemon lime gatorade.

Water is always a good thing to work in there.

Toast is a good suggestion for something to eat.

    Crackers, Sprite, Gingerale.

No Fanta Grape or it will turn your poop green and you will subsequently think you have an infection inside of you and worry youself even more sick.
