    Default It's Good Friday

No need to debate religion, that's what the UnPD is for. At the same time, it seems fair to honor the most important event in the Christian calendar.

Have a good Good Friday, everyone.
Welcome to Pacers Digest! New around here? Here are three tips for making the forum a great place to talk about Pacers basketball.

    • Log in. Even if you want to read instead of post, it's helpful because it lets you:
    • Change your signature options. You can hide all signatures by choosing "Settings" (top right) then "General Settings" (middle left) and unchecking the box "Show Signatures" (in the "Thread Display Options" area).
    • Create an ignore list. I know it may seem unneighborly. But you're here to talk about the Pacers, not argue with someone who's just looking for an argument. Most of the regular users on here make use (at least occasionally) of the "Ignore" feature. Just go to "Settings" -> "Edit Ignore List" and add the names.

    Enjoy your time at PD!

Daughter gave up peanut butter for Lent (you can't imagine how hard that was for her). I told her this AM that Sunday after Mass I was going to fix her Peanut Butter Pancakes for breakfast....and her brother biscuits and sausage gravy (he gave up meat). You'd think I'd just parted the Red Sea they were so happy. I told them there was a price tho....I get all of the orange jelly beans.

Peanut butter pancakes? Really - are those any good. Doesn't sound too appealing to me.

Man, giving up all meat would be tough. I have a friend who did that. Last year and for the first 4/5 of this Lent I gave up eating during the day. (Stole it from Islam and Ramadan.) However, I was getting killer headaches in the afternoon/evening this year waiting on the sun to set so I switched to no soda the rest of the way.

P.S. Biscuits and gravy sounds freakin' delicious right now.

The toughest part was for me. I fix the lunches for the wife and kids.

One of them is on a diet....one gets no meat....and one no peanut butter. That was a dirty trick to play on dad. That was nothing compared to His sacrifice though.

Peanut Butter Waffles are the best.

Um, I'm a Christian, and I get the intent, but it seems like this is unPD material, by definition.

I could easily close it for that very reason. But, as long as it's about wishing one another well, I don't mind. If things change, then it goes.

I tried hard in the OP to frame it in just that way.

I don't want this to escalate and I know you're a good guy and it won't but why do you care? If people are just wishing each other well what is the problem and why would you even post this?

I'm sorry, I fear some of my comments may have derailed this thread a bit.

Have a blessed Easter Week-end.....and ignore anything else I may say.

Because rules are rules, and there has to be a line in the sand, otherwise it becomes a slippery slope, and this thread can be used as a precedent for why their thread was treated unfairly.

Reiteration: As long as it's well-wishes, I don't care if it's here. Let us do our jobs (without telling us how). If the discussion goes someplace else, I get rid of it.

I'll remember that. I guess this isn't a "potentially charged topic", and that this isn't about religion. My mistake.
