    Default Best iphone apps?

Are the some that are totally needed?

Are there any that need to be avoided?

    Thanks in advance...

I wouldn't say I have any that I 'totally need', but I recommend Sportacular for keeping track of NBA/NFL, etc scores, stats, schedules. Wikiamo is a nice Wikipedia app.

There's tons out there that may be right for you.

Once the 3.0 version of the iphone software comes out this summer, there should be a wave of really cool new ones. The ESPN app that will come soon after the 3.0 release looks very cool, for example.

Currently using: facebook, surf report, tide report, citibank (crashes a lot), and probably my favorite, Fandango (uses your location to give you movie times near you - very VERY useful when someone at dinner randomly says "lets go to a movie".

Crap like lightsaber sounds, pinball and other "gyro" games, etc. are major wastes of money and time.

I've personally found that the most useful apps are the ones that are offered for free by businesses that want you to stay connected to the information that they provide. And if it's free, you can try it and ditch it if you don't like it.

When it come to cheap/free games I like the Flick fishing and Scramble. I also have Backgrounds... which is self explanatory, and then there's Classics, which is an APP with a bunch of old books like Huck Finn, and the Count of Monte Crisco, that you can read, if time allows

Lux Dlk is awesome. Worth the $8 if you like risk. they need to sync this with facebook like Scrabble did. I downloaded the Kindle. I read often and this comes in handy. ABC News and USA Today are good for info.
