Default Comprehensive look at the Pacers playoff race.

Current record is 1-1 against Pacers with 2 to play.
    New Jersey
    37

Pacers have the tie break. No games left.
    New York
    37

NY won series, so Pacers are really 3 games behind.
    Milwaukee

    1
Mil leads the Pacers 2-1, with 1 game left to play.
    Charlotte
    38
    1
Cha leads the Pacers 2-1, with 1 game left to play.
    Indiana
    39
    2
Pacers have 4 games left against the teams ahead of them.

I don’t put wins in the standings because the lost column is a better barometer of where the Pacers stand in relation to the other teams. Why, because if they don’t lose we can’t catch them.

We control our own destiny against Chicago, Milwaukee, and Charlotte, because if we win our remaining games we can make up what we are behind them in the standings. We have the tie breaker against New Jersey but we need them to lose two more games than we do. New York is our big problem right now, because we are two games behind them, which is actually three since they have the head to head tie break.

It appears to me after looking over everyone’s schedule that the Pacers are still very much in the race. It also appears there could be a tie for the last spot. Maybe even a tie among more then two teams.

    5. Higher winning percentage against playoff teams in opposite conference
    6. Higher point differential between points scored and points allowed

This is a pretty nice breakdown. The Knicks scare me, Their schedule doesn't look too bad to me. I can only feel confident that the only sure losses they'll have are against the Cavs and Magic, and they play the Magic 3 more times (they'll probably win at least one of those). I don't think they're gonna go 14-3 or anything, I guess I'm just not that confident in us to take advantage

a thread title like this could also be condensed to "Jim O'Brien is the Pacers coach". Go ahead and book those late April vacations to destinations with no televisions.

Nice work Will. Doc, your post made no sense and pretty much added nothing o this topic. Why not take that to the Fire Jim thread?

Your statement is a little dated. If you're going to make useless comments, you might as well throw in other ways to follow the game and tell people to book late April vacations to destinations with no televisions, radios, Internet access and cell phone coverage.

Devin Harris seperated his shoulder yesterday. He will miss some games.

We MUST beat the Bulls twice (03/28 & 03/31)

Danny Granger is back. Can he lead us to the playoffs?
