    Default Ind/Philly

    Pacers send:
    Brandon Rush

    76ers send:
    Spieghts.

Why for the pacers: They need a four with defense and speed and Spieghts fits that

76ers do this because they need 3 point shooting and Rush brings that and great defense, and can run. They have Brand so spieghts is expendable

These are the two players I wanted the most for the Pacers with our first this year.. I think to do a deal like this you would have to wait until after this year's draft, or during it, to see if it is necessary from a positional standpoint. I like both of these players A LOT.

Philly has Igoudala and Young on the wings, so they need Rush a lot less than they need Speights. They aren't trading Speights just because they have Brand.

At the very least, they won't trade Speights in return for a player at a position that they are already pretty strong at.

Do you watch Philly play? Young plays 3/4 and Iggy plays 3. Green is their starting 2, it's their weakest spot.

That's a gimmick smallball lineup they use because Brand is injured right now.

Young measured out at under 6'6" w/o shoes. He's an excellent young player, but he's not a long term answer at PF for anyone. They are doing this in the short term because that's what's best for the team (kind of like what Indy is doing right now starting Jarrett Jack at the 2). In the long run, Young's career won't last long playing a position where he's giving up 30+ pounds nightly and they'll be limited in how far they can go.

that may be true, but iggy struggles at the 2, which is why they switched to that lineup. it's speculated that they like this lineup better

I have a feeling they will be trading one or the other away at some point. They have other needs and Thad and Iggy have similar skill sets, although Iggy being more well rounded. I think they need a true shooting guard, such as a player like Nick Young. Young for Young would be a better trade for Philly. Keep the young front court player. It makes little sense for Philly to trade Speights. Especially with how well he is fitting in with this team.

It makes no sense at all. He looks like a pretty good bigman prospect and a great value pick at #16. How often do you get a good bigman at #16 in the draft?

From Philly's prospective, there's just no need to trade him. If they need more wing help (which they don't), they can spend another draft pick on one this year or sign a FA. It's far more likely they'll find a good wing player in the next draft than they'll find another young bigman like Speights.

They could unite the bros. Kareem and Brandon.
